Coming soon, to a game near you!

Hi, everyone! Several weeks ago, we put up a post detailing some proposed changes to help the game settle into its growing population of players and characters. You guys responded very much in favor of the changes, and even had excellent ideas of your own to boot--so thank you all a ton for the help!

As of now, here's our updated plan for March and onward.

Temporary app blackout period - For the month of March, we will be closing applications to new players. Any apps we recieve from new players during March won't be looked at until the start of April. Players who are already in the game will still be free to app new characters during this closure period.

A "coasting week" between events - We will be implimenting this as a regular thing, starting after the end of this event (early March). We'll put up a short OOC post with any setting and timeframe details you will need to know during that time.

Spacing out same-player applications - Starting now, players must wait until their character has passed one round of AC before they may app another one. If you app a new character, but don't want to wait through your whole "free AC" period and one round of normal game AC, we will allow players to voluntarily submit full AC during their "free AC" month to shorten the wait time.

Limiting invites - After February, we will start limiting invites to just one per player per month. We understand that this may be disappointing to players who want to get their friends into the Drift Fleet quickly, but we feel that a slower join rate really is important to the structural integrity of the game.

Not now, but maybe sometime! - We are considering some other possible options, like putting a limit on the number of apps we accept in a week, or recurring app lulls. We've gotten other great ideas regarding the Shuffle, the invite system, and more--so while none of these will be happening in the immediate future, we will definitely be taking the ideas with us as the game moves forward, to revisit if needed later on.

Again, thank you all for your help, patience, and imagination over the last few weeks. :) If you've got any questions or big concerns about these changes, feel free to send a message to the mod journal!
