Hello! Zuko Ren here, bringing in Kate Fuller from the tv series From Dusk Till Dawn.
Yep, the tv series and not that one movie from the 90s with George Clooney and Salma Hayek being totally hot in the general vicinity of each other. For the most part the plots match up fairly well, with some people being alive when they should have been dead, but with more of the world and the characters fleshed out.
Kate is a preacher's daughter from a very small town that had a really crappy vacation interrupted by some dudes who decided her family's RV would be a good cover for them to slip into Mexico, but then there were some snake vampires and it's really a mess, her life is a mess. She'll be glad to be in one place for awhile, even if it is weird and all space-like. Her brother is the one that would be nerding out over this, not her.
She's been stuck with a pilot augment because if you can drive an RV you're CERTAINLY qualified to drive a space ship, right?
