Hi guys! It's KJ, bringing my roster up to three with the introduction of this lady, Otono-Tachibana Makie, of the complicated name and complicated history. She was born into a samurai bloodline and was thrown out pretty quickly for accidentally being more skilled with a sword than her brother, who dealt with this blow to his honour by uh... committing seppuku. From there, life only got worse. But hey, at least she's good with a sword. I mean--



...that's the only two seconds you ever need to watch of the anime, which is the worst adaptation of a manga I've ever seen. Makie is only a side character, but she's complicated and full of pathos and has a tragic life, and happens to be the most dangerous swordsman in Japan oh god she's scary. But then she spent a year in Adstringendum and found out what it was like to just be treated as a normal person and kind of liked it, really, so she's more content with her lot in life now.

She's going to be very confused by space.

I only know a little bit about the canon, but it's enough to know that Makie is amazing.

Man, I was trying to think of who of mine might possibly gel at all with her. HMMM. Gonna think on this one.

And haa, one of Nel's best friends of all time was Rin. So that's kind of funny.

Oh is that the Rin that had the UN payback? She's the only one I've ever seen around and we played really briefly once in a TDM!

Yep! That's her. She was in DF for a brief while, and Nel knew her from a few game-hops before that. So, they'd been through a lot before she disappeared from the Fleet.

Boo. :c maybe she'll come back one day. I'd have loved to see how the dynamic between Rin and Makie goes outside of canon.

Her player is currently teaching in Thailand, so... it'll probably be a while until she can return to games, haha... :{

I would've loved to see that too.
