Canon update time!
Hello, floot! This is a headsup to Alphonse's crewmates and CR that he's going to be going to sleep for a canon update as of today (Feb. 28th). He'll be updated to post-series, where he has his flesh and blood body back. He'll be a little frail physically, but still a formidable alchemist. I'll therefore be changing journals from thebloodseal to sonofgold, but I've asked to keep the old journal on the communities for a bit so I can wrap up any existing threads with armor!Al.
What's going to happen is that Al and Ling/Greed are going to attempt to open a portal home with alchemy. Of course, it's going to fail... and for the curious, as detailed here, the two are going to encounter something deliberately blocking their way out. The blowback from the transmutation is going to cause Al to pass out, and some time this week, his armor body is going to disappear and be replaced by his real one before he wakes up, with two years-ish of added memories. Also important to note, he will not have told anyone about his plans, not even his closest CR. Part of him feels guilty for leaving everyone behind, even if he does have a job to do back home, and he knows his attachments here have been making him procrastinate on trying to open the portal.
If anyone has any questions or wants to plot for afterwards, please do hit me up. Al will, at least, want to let his closest ones know (covertly) that something was definitely in their way of leaving, and it wasn't just a case of the transmutation backfiring.
