Ford looked at the handful of what appeared to pass for currency and pursed his lips. His brow began to crease as a very troubled expression played against his features. This was a problem he had not anticipated. Violence was something he had reckoned was an inevitability that he might have to try and squirm his way out of, but this was something entirely different. He didn't know whether to laugh or to sigh.
Patiently and very warmly, he broached the subject of money again. "Those are acorns. You are aware those are acorns, aren't you?" He punctuated a pause of the correct amount of time, before continuing. "I ask because there's an awful lot of forest around."
The last time he'd ran into a people whose fiscal policy involved a currency that grew on trees, they decided to start setting all the trees on fire in order to combat out of control inflation.
