[ If they thought that Chris wasn't going to willing just jump on into the water, then they were right. But once he's dumped in and acclimated to the fact that he is not drowning and that the wet suit and flippers server a purpose other than making him look ridiculous before he dies, he's... kind of okay with it.
It's kind of cool, at least. Not the sort of thing he could do back on Earth. Nothing compared to swimming with the dolphins or whatever overly expensive attractions they tried to sell at aquariums these days.
He doesn't really know where he's going but he's careful to not stray too far from the familiar. It's one thing to walk unfamiliar streets that you could then back trace. Adding a third dimension, though. He finds himself attracted to a nearby bank of coral, not to far out of sight of where he dropped into the water to start, and he gets up close, admiring all the different kinds of sea life. He comes face to face with a parrotfish-looking thing that strobes colors slowly. ]
Hahah. You look friendly. What are you...?
[ It comes closer and nibbles at his cheek, in a way that doesn't really hurt so much as it tickles, and he allows it to. Soon, another one joins, and another, until he's beset upon by a bunch of weird fish gumming any patches of exposed skin but also trying to get at the wetsuit, too. The first person to pass by will see the fish swarming around him, and the pathetic look as he mouths the words help me.
Nevermind that he could just shoo them away. He doesn't want to upset them... ]
