HOLODECK? LET'S BUILD A HOLODECK!

Hey everyone, a little while ago I asked the mods if Ezri could build something from Star Trek. The answer was unfortunately no but they offered up an even more amazing alternative.

A holodeck.

Having been a scientist a couple times and an engineer, she can theoritically design and build one herself but it would take possibly a year or more, being the tiny person she is. She also won't come up with the idea to build a holodeck herself after her first project fails.

So the question is, who would want to help work on something like this? It would still be a long term project, maybe a mingle log once a month for a few months or something? And it's also a good chance for expanding on CR!

So, let's plot? And I guess sign up for the "engineering" crew, for lack of a better name.

Billy will brush up on the theory and gladly help, but his only experience is in small-scale personal holograms. He'd have to hear about what the big boys can do first.

I would love for Rip to be part of this! Especially since he wants to get a better idea of how the ship's technology works anyway. Also holographic technology is definitely a thing where he's from, but not in the form of hard light constructs or anything. It's visible, but not solid, basically.

Peggy's not an engineer at all, but she's meticulously minded and (more importantly) has been learning about programming, coding, computer systems, etc from Winn for a few months now. Rather than having her take point on any aspect, I'd love for her to at least get her hands dirty and be directed to do some grunt work in order to complement her lessons.

Beverlys is probably not much help on the engineering side of things other than being the other person who knows how the holodeck is supposed to function, but she is good at programming and designing holonovels and adventures, later down the road

Fitz would totally get in on this. Coming from something like the MCU, he has experience with holographic technology (even has to take 2 semesters of it at SHIELD academy, according to him). Nothing quite like a holodeck though. So this would be new and interesting! Fitz is definitely down for new and interesting

Felix is another person who isn't engineering (THANKS ATROMA...) but knows a hell of a lot about computer programming and also has...dampened engineering abilities.

He's also super bored in the Fleet and I'd love to get him involved on a project.
