Hello, friends! Birdie here, with character #2 for me: Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, from Marvel comics!
Carol is a former Air Force colonel and fighter pilot who got caught in the explosion of an alien wishing machine, and instead of dying, got weird alien powers and physiology out of the deal. Because that is how explosions work in comics. Now she's an Avenger, and also a total badass. And a huge dork. Before arriving here, she just got back from a year-long trip to space, so she is going to be thrilled to find herself out here again.
