Updates to rules!
Hello, Drift Fleet! I'm (Stick!) here to announce a couple of changes to apps and app-related things that we're making official. We've done this with the expanding player-base in mind--but if you have any questions, concerns, or other worries about these changes, please feel free to message us with your thoughts!
The personality section: One of our favorite parts about this game is our easy character application. However, we've found that the minimum seven sentences in the personality section aren't quite enough for us to get a good idea of whether the player understands the character they're apping. It's especially tough if we know nothing about the canon, and all we've got to go off of is seven bullet points. So, instead of bothering you guys during the app process with questions and requests for more information, we've decided to just raise the minimum from the get-go. The minimum length for the personality section will now be three paragraphs with five sentences each, or five bullet points with three sentences each. As always, players are welcome to write more than that. Nothing else about the apps themselves will change.
Playing from new canons: (EDIT: 6/20) Our first rendition of this seemed great on paper, but quickly became difficult for app-readers to manage and keep track of in practice. We've adjusted the rule for simplicity: we are implementing a two-month waiting period before players can app characters from brand-new movies, games, TV show pilot episodes, and so on. And when canon-bumping to new episodes (or other similarly released additions to canon), there will be no waiting period required.
Cast caps: A lot of other games do this to keep casts from becoming too overwhelming, both to castmates and non-castmates. Starting now, we'll be putting a twelve character limit on the number of characters that can be apped from a single canon. As of right now, the only cast affected is the Dragon Age cast (we'll be grandfathering them in at the current 15 characters, but won't be accepting new cast apps until we're down to 11).
