Some notes, as we send y'all off!

This Game Is Now An Open Musebox. Use it as you see fit! Want to revisit old systems? Want to make up your own? Want to make something ridiculous happen in the Marsiva, in the Iskaulit, or on your own ships? The possibilities are endless!! Post your own adventures, or your own slice-of-life! Play out your bittersweet farewells! Make your own happy endings! Have fun and be fancy.
As of this post, the game communities now have open and unmoderated membership. If you want to bring your friends in - maybe Marsiva yanked them here accidentally?! She's still so young after all - that's certainly an option.
Because of the above, if anything crazy/catastrophic/spambot-related/etc comes up, the mods will be leaving their contact info up on the mod contact page! But otherwise, this musebox will not be actively watched/moderated. So have fun! Try not to break anything too much! :)
Semi-related, we will be deleting the player contact page out of respect for our players' privacy going forward. We will be leaving the informational OOC posts up, as well as the spreadsheets (so long as Google will allow!!) just in case you need to reference anything!

Thank you - all of you - for being the most amazing playerbase ever. We say it often, because it is 100% true and absolutely unbiased in all its entirety! Hi folks!! We're close to the end here, and we have an ultimate finale ready to share with you all - but in order for us to hammer out the last few details, we need to clear up some things first...

Once we have an idea of how the players would like to handle these things (we'll give it few days, no immediate rush!) we'll hammer out the last few details of the finale post, and everyone can have their proper ending threads before we make the transition from game to musebox status.

Just like any other system, your time in this one draws to a close. Just like any other drift, the Marsiva begins to pull away, tugging all of the Fleet ships along behind her. Just like any other time, everything is normal as you start to move along.

... For a few hours. After that, you'll notice everything begin to slow. Usually at this point, you've drifted far enough away that the system is just out of sight - but this time, you're still here. The planet is just outside of the Marsiva's radius of influence, so no ships or shuttles can reach her - no landing, for now, unfortunately - but she's still there. And the Marsiva rumbles - quietly, but noticeable - and continues moving slowly... without actually getting any farther away. Seems like, for some reason, it doesn't actually want to leave.

As of this post, the Fleet is "drifting"! For... very slow and circle-y values of drifting. But hey, it kind of counts?

The drift period will last until 7/7, taking us straight into endgame. Please see below for details and a timeline of events!

New Passengers will find themselves waking up on their new ship (listed below) with no warning. Everyone loves a surprise! Once they step into the hallway, there'll be a flutter of confetti, a playful and welcoming musical tune, and small tray with cups of chocolate-flavored pudding desserts sent along to celebrate. Welcome to your new ship, passengers!

Some ships have fallen to 60 percent capacity or below. As a result, players have expressed interest in fusing ships! We have a permanent submission page here with the process and forms. Ships with six or fewer people are allowed to apply. If you were considering a fusion, but gained a seventh that was shuffled by the mods, then you are still eligible. Hello drift fleet peoples. This is Q, your friendly neighborhood Ulaz and Akeldama player.

Surprise~ Even though Drift Fleet is moving into end game, I couldn't help myself... so I'm bringing in Quatre Raberba Winner from Gundam Wing. He's the youngest of the five Gundam pilots and super polite. He's also a brilliant tactician and leader... even though that's not what the Atroma assigned him to~.

He does also have a dark side to him too. He has the potential to get a little crazy.

Feel free to bother him, have tea, ... hope he's not the cook on your ship.

The mother ship Marsiva trudges ever on, its gravity inescapable, as it pulls away from the giant fauna planet once and for all. Hopefully you got your share of giant pterrosaur steaks and traded in your fifteen fish, because it's all open space from here!

As of this post, the Fleet is drifting! The drift period will last until 6/3.

In addition to the usual Waystations with their vending machines and questionable artificial parks, there is a relentless string of sponsored stations alternating with so-called Vacation Destinations that are really just tourist traps. Seriously. These other waystations are sponsored by a brand with its own fast food restaurant inside, the most plentiful of which is Floot Loops-- as well as Feet's Coffee, Joka-Kola, and something called "Boop" which no one can figure out. That chain has oxygen bars instead of food for... some reason.

Each tourist trap is more ridiculous than the next, from the Amazing Inside-Out Spaceship to the Planet-Sized Cheese, and then onto stuff like the Universe's Largest Ball of Twine-- you get the idea (and feel free to make up your own). At least you only have to put up with this for two weeks! After that, the Fleet will be arriving in a new system.

What fantastic and probably underwhelming """wonders""" await? Only time will tell...

Date Auction Update

Hi, everyone!

I'll be posting the mingle shortly.

With Minako being a buyer included, I had 4 buyers for 11 people being sold. So, I rolled those 4.

If your character is being sold, but you're okay with being RNG'd as a buyer, I am willing to roll additional. Let me know in the questions thread below if that's a thing, and I will gladly roll it up and add it to this post, as well as create a top level.

If anyone else wants to buy, I'm going to put top levels for all 11, and you can work things out in the thread if you'd like, so that someone buys your character.

Have fun to the people who got signed up unwillingly. ;)

Also, the dates themselves do not have to happen in this system, as we're going to be starting to drift tomorrow anyway. So, feel free to choose how that happens. It's up to you! The point is to have fun. :D

Drift Fleet Date Auction!

A little late, but the poll results are in!

With a come-from-behind victory, stocking up on supplies wins out!

SO... with that said, I'll be posting up a few things shortly, including Minako's announcement about the decision for the funds raised, and then, this weekend (after I get back from Endgame), I'll be posting up the mingle for the auction itself!

Don't forget, you have until the moment I post the mingle (Saturday night) to sign up if you already know who your partner is. If you're getting RNG'd, I'll post the results of the RNG assignment Friday night, so you have until Friday afternoon (eastern time) to sign up for random pairings! If your character is getting sold, they're also allowed to buy! So, don't be afraid to go on more than one date! I'll also be including a thread in the date mingle for the last day in the system (May 19, which is Sunday) for people to do some last minute shopping with the money raised if you want to do it there, or feel free to make your own post about it.

And don't worry. If you don't sign up, you can still post threads in the mingle about being bought and sold, it just won't be through my RNG and you'll have to make your own top level on the mingle for the auction part. Feel free to do the dates in your own posts if you'd like, or you can add them to the mingle if that's easier. I don't mind, either way!

Also, if your character isn't the type to be sold, didn't get signed up by someone else, or wouldn't be interested in buying, but you still want to be involved, Minako has a post here where characters can volunteer to help out with things like escorting people to seats or taking money or various other tasks that go into having a fundraiser date auction.

Have any other questions! Ask away! (I have email notifications turned off on all the OOC posts so far so I don't get overwhelmed with plotting threads, so please use the question threads in each of the posts to reach out to me, or you can PM my journal.) And you can use any of the posts (this one, the first one, or the poll to do your plotting!

REMINDER: This is the last set of upgrades!
→ ICly, characters will not know in advance that the Upgrades system has been taken offline. Should a character attempt to open the form to submit a request and payment for an upgrade, the payment of credits will go through, but the upgrade request will not. Feel free to have some IC grumblings about this!
→ OOCly, some cleanup: Many upgrades were only half paid for, and others were invalid due to a ship already possessing the other branch (A vs B). If you think your final set of upgrades is incorrect, let us know and we'll figure it out!

Fanmail / Fan Theory Meme

Every fandom is full of fans eagerly coming up with theories, opinions, and questions- and the Drift Fleet is no different! In this meme, we get a chance to hear from our delightful fans!

Directions:

1. Comment with your character!

2. Then, pretending to be a fan of the Drift Fleet show- comment around to other characters with fan letters, questions, "headcanons", opinions, etc. You can do this anonymously, with a sock journal, or just your regular journal if you're feeling lazy.

3. As your character, reply back to any comments you get! These are your fans, treat them well!

4. You're also free to make toplevel comments focused on different fandom topics (such as "Best Ship", "Favorite 'Headcanons'", "Predictions - etc) and have a conversation between fellow fans! Or among fleetmembers, whatever!

5. Remember that this is an "IC Meme" (as in, its not game canon but you're still acting as characters), so there should be no discussions about fellow players or other OOC stuff.

** The mods reserve the right to freeze or delete any comments or threads deemed inappropriate or otherwise against the rules. **

Hi, everyone!

I'm going to leave the poll open a bit longer because we have a three way tie going at the moment. Don't forget, each of your characters can vote because this was put out to the Fleet as a whole. I'm doing honor system for this, but I would like you all to vote in character.

That said, we have lots of people up to be auctioned off, but no buyers! So, don't forget, there's a thread to sign up to be a bidder here, with the same form as the people being auctioned for random pairings. If you already have someone in mind, then please feel free to fill out the form here so I know to set up a bidding thread for you.

Another option, if everyone's open to it, is for you guys to set up your own bidding threads on the final mingle, but I don't mind doing it if you'd rather I set it up for you first. I'm flexible!

If you guys want to use any of these posts to plot things out (this post, first post, second post), feel free! I have a questions thread on all of them, too, so just tag me there if you have any questions as I'll be turning email notifications off so I don't get flooded with plotting comments.

So far, we're on track to actually have the auction mingle itself go up next weekend if I get enough sign ups, so have fun!

In addition to my other suggestions here, we had another one! So, I'm posting the poll today.

You can vote for each character you play, but try to really pick something your character would pick, and please use the character's journal to vote. This is sort of like Minako posing the idea to the Fleet as a whole, and letting the other passengers decide what they want the money to go to.

If you want your characters to discuss it with each other, I have an in character announcement here that Minako is asking for ideas on at the same time she'll be asking for IC sign-ups. If you didn't fill out the OOC sign-up, that's fine because your character can also volunteer ICly on that post, or volunteer to help with the auction itself. ^_^ OOC sign up for characters is here!

And, as always, feel free to use this post or the other one I have up so far to plot things out with other players! I have a questions thread here.

Hey, y'all! Lyn here; I was in the Fleet with this character many moons ago, and decided to pop him back in for the endgame. He's a Warcraft OC named Adrasteius: previously a mage, now a pious priest of the Holy Light (so: largely a healer, but with a lot of other light and shadowy tricks, too). He's outgoing and energetic, friendly but fussy, and easily riled/flustered. He speaks plainly, dislikes 'shenanigans', and is extremely devoted to his religion ... and to his son, Belthazar. He hopes everyone has been treating his precious boy kindly!!
