THE SUMMER TEST DRIVE MEME

Got someone you want to try out before you app? Well this is the post for it! Feel free to use anything that fits in the setting of Drift Fleet! Want to play bumper shuttles? Want to go wild in a med bay? Play around with the current plot? Have at it!

Threads from the Test-Drive may be made game "canon" but DO NOT count toward AC!

FOR NEW PLAYERS: You DO NOT NEED an invite to participate in the TEST DRIVE! If you decide to APP into the game, ONLY THEN will you need an invite from a current player!

    [It takes him a confused minute, but then Finn's eyes widen in understanding.]

    Jaina Solo, right? You're from Jaina's time!

    [And while he'll be the first to admit that she'd had plenty of problems to deal with, in the short time he'd known Jaina he'd at least concluded that she didn't have a brother that became Kylo Ren, and that alone makes that timeline better in Finn's eyes. Even if it meant over there he might not even be born at all, and he'd certainly never meet Rey.]

    Yeah, I'm from the other one. The one with--Ben Solo.

    I have heard a little about him and the other timeline from talking to people...I think it's sad that things went so badly for you all.

    Ben...you mean Kylo, right? I've heard both names used for him. I feel bad for Leia and Han in your world. Although they've been through a lot in my timeline too. Still, to have a child fall like that...

    [Luke can't imagine how painful it would be. He thinks of his own Ben, and of Jacen and Jaina and their struggles with the Dark Side over the last few years. It seems every Force user is tempted, and he wishes the temptation wasn't too much for some.

    So Jaina was here before... I know she isn't now, I'd feel her presence if she was still here now. But I'm glad you got to meet her, she's quite a young lady.

    [Finn bites his lip.] Kylo Ren, yeah. So you heard about him. I haven't--I didn't tell anyone about what happened. Long as he's not here, it's a lot of heartbreak that they might not have to go through. Han and the General--they were here but they were from right after Endor. For all I know, they're going to go into your timeline, so why should they have to know about something that won't even affect them?

    [And he hadn't wanted to talk about Ren at all. Not if he didn't have to.]

    Is that wrong?

    [Luke shakes his head.] No. No, it isn't. They don't need the burden if they might not even be from that world. Just the same as I wouldn't tell them too much about my timeline for the same reason.

    It sounds like it's better that he isn't here. I actually was told he was at one point. Maybe it's better for anyone that he went back home.

    I just wonder how things could go so differently between timelines. Leia's children that I know are all decent people...they've been through a lot, and struggled, but they never went dark. And yet, Ren sounds so different, so...corrupted." He shook his head.

    "I wonder if it's the difference between me and my counterpart. You said I disappeared, but that never happened to me. Almost makes me sorry things turned out like that." he said.

    [Finn seems to relax a little and shrugs. This is familiar territory to him after being in the Fleet for a while.]

    Actually, far as I can tell, it started diverging right away. Ren's older than Jaina, based on the year they were born.

    [So blame Han and Leia for having kids right away instead of waiting.]

    [He listens.] I suppose we may never know the real answer. It's a lot to come to terms with, this timeline thing. Especially since if there's one, there could be other timelines out there as well. I can't help wondering how different they all must be.
