    [mom why]

Ohhh, you're a pilot, Lailah? You know, I think between all of us we could actually run a ship all by ourselves. ...except most people wouldn't be able to see you, so they'd probably just think it's haunted.
    sansseraph: (And we're burning)

eVERYTHING'S FINE AND NOTHING HURTS...for now

    [personal profile] sansseraph 2016-09-05 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Don't you "mom why" me, mister!]

I am, indeed. Though, I'm still not quite sure what I'm doing.

[Lailah will consider it a victory if she doesn't crash the ship, frankly.]

Let's try to avoid making people think it was haunted. We wouldn't want another incident like the first time we spoke to Rose, right? [HAHAHA...HA...haaa...yeah.] What did you get assigned to, Sorey?
    monolike: (ayyyy lookin atchu)

    [personal profile] monolike 2016-09-05 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
    [yes ma'am]

I'm an engineer! I basically make sure the ship keeps running, but I'm still learning and I've been here a while. We can be new at this together! [not a thing you want to hear from the guy in charge of monitoring life support]
    sansseraph: (Play it loud)

    [personal profile] sansseraph 2016-09-05 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[...Sucks to be human, as Edna would say.]

I'm sure you're doing your best, Sorey. [He usually does.] I don't know how much I could help with that, but I'm sure that there are others on the fleet you can use as a resource.

    [Speaking of which....]

You must have been on quite a few adventures while I wasn't here. Would you mind talking to me about some of them?
monolike: (i think i'm cracking up)

    [personal profile] monolike 2016-09-05 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my gosh, absolutely! Lailah, we went to this amazing place called a 'space station' and there were so many types of people there! And they had a library with volumes and volumes of hundreds of thousands of cultures and star charts and maps of ruins on distant planets- I mean, it only could've been better if I'd actually gotten to go there!

Where are you? I'll meet up with you! I can tell you everything! [he has done so much exploring and learning it's unreal]
    sansseraph: (Like we're the stars)

    [personal profile] sansseraph 2016-09-05 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's so nice to see Sorey as excited as he is. Goodness knows it's been hard for him to be the Shepherd, but she's glad that he can still find reasons to smile.]

Heehee, I'm sure that if you could, you would've lived in that library!

    [That's Our SoreyTM]

I'm in my room. The door's unlocked, so just go ahead and let yourself in.

[She's just straightening her hair, which is a long and strangely soothing process.]

Eh heh...well, Mikleo and I tried to sleep over in it one night but we got kicked out. [which was a complete overreaction to one boy trying to learn and a floating haunted book, also trying to learn.

BUT HEY here he is, in mama's room.]
Oh, taking care of your hair? Anything I can do to help? [because there's miles of it]
    sansseraph: (Play it loud)

    [personal profile] sansseraph 2016-09-05 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm, there might be laws against that sort of thing. Or at least it's in the library's policy. [Poor nerd boys.

Fortunately (or unfortunately), Lailah doesn't know about the Incident, and so has no reason to refuse the help.]

It just needs a bit of brushing before I put it up into my barrette. I'd welcome the help, and you can talk to me about your adventures at the same time, too. [She'll hand the brush over to him.]
    monolike: (a discovery!!!!)

    [personal profile] monolike 2016-09-06 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
[mikleo's gonna burst thru the door and save your life, lailah

Sorey plunks down obediently, taking the brush and giving her hair a very concerned look before he determines that he should probably start somewhere in the middle. Right? Yeah middle sounds good.]

Anyway, this place wasn't on a world or anything like that. It was in the middle of space but it still had this huge park, and had lots of trading going on. It was really neat seeing all different kinds of people interact. And I found someone to teach me more about engineering while I was still there! Oh, by the way, if you'd like piloting tips there's a nice person named Hera, she's on the Golden and apparently she flew ships back home, too.
    sansseraph: (Music's on)

    [personal profile] sansseraph 2016-09-06 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
[It'll be too late. Nothing can save her hair, now. She'll have to get it as short as Mikleo's in order to salvage it.

Luckily for Sorey, she's already gotten the worst of the knots out, so there's not much he can do to hurt her on accident. Thank the gods he's not in charge of trimming/cutting her hair.]

It sounds like a trading hub, albeit on a much larger scale. I'm glad you made an engineering friend, too, while you were there.

[Friends are probably the most important thing to get out of it, other than information on their general situation.]

Oh, really? I'll certainly have to contact her and see if she'd be willing to tutor me. And it sounds like you've made quite a few friends in the Fleet, hm?
    monolike: (but did you know)

    [personal profile] monolike 2016-09-07 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
I've made some, yeah. [the brushing slows a little bit.] People tend to leave kind of suddenly, here. They go back home, usually; that's the reigning theory, anyway.
