Got someone you want to try out before you app? Well this is the post for it! Feel free to use anything that fits in the setting of Drift Fleet! Want to play bumper shuttles? Want to go wild in a med bay? Play around with the current plot? Have at it!

Threads from the Test-Drive may be made game "canon" but DO NOT count toward AC!

FOR NEW PLAYERS: You DO NOT NEED an invite to participate in the TEST DRIVE! If you decide to APP into the game, ONLY THEN will you need an invite from a current player!

[ A: SHIP REDECORATION ]

[ Well, congratulations to whichever ship has gotten the new girl! She's spent the last hour redecorating the ship. Where did she even get that lacy pink tablecloth that fits over the table? Or those pink ribbons to lace the walls? What about those pink welcome mats outside placed outside the bedroom(s)? Who knows.

She is sitting on a kitchen counter, swinging her legs and drinking a... something blue and glowing.... looking pleased with her work at making the ship 100% more lacy and 200% more pink. ]


[ B: GATHERING IS GO ]

All right, if I can gather 20 of each item type... what qualifies as item types in the real world... [ She's muttering to herself in the forest. Right on the edge, really. The ship she rode in on? Right there. She hasn't gone too far in.

She's plucking items as she mutters to herself. Flowers, grasses, leaves. Anything she can think of.

She plucks a branch off a tree. The branch disappears in a soft blue light.... and then a handful of leaves reappear in the same blue light, falling to the forest floor. The girl frowns. ] Well. I guess leaves count, even if they're on a branch...


[ C: WAYSTATION FASHION ]

[ Aboard the waystation, there's a girl in a frilly dress checking out.....

Fashion accessories.

Or rather, a small trading post set up with a collection of various goggles, belts, packs, etc. She looks them over, examining each with a critical eye. ]

Okay, look, if you're going for the full steampunk look... you've got to use brass. Copper doesn't cut it. And rusted iron definitely doesn't.

[ There's a soft blue flash and a pair of brass goggles with dark, blue-tinted glass appears in a hand. ] See these? Level 75, they drop only from the third mid-boss of the Abyssal Air Fleet. See how the brass contrasts nicely with the glass, but matches with the leather in the-

[ Her speech is paused when somebody rushed by and snatches them out of her hands. ] AH-! HEY, COME BACK HERE WITH THOSE! Orion will kill me!

The mind boggles. Why would leaves be separate items? It doesn't count every dongle on your steampunk getup as its own item.

If it was about game balance, I would guess each leaf can be used as an ingredient. [ Of course, this isn't a game any more. So. ]


As is, I got nothing.

No wait, maybe that's a clue. Maybe the inventory limit means these leaves are some next-level shit.

Well, I have leveled my Gathering skill quite a bit. Maybe.

[ She doesn't sound convinced. ]

Take them back with you. It's possible that we'll be able to unlock some OP alchemy recipes that didn't exist in IF.

This is a terrible burden that I reluctantly, but heroically, bear. Some day my life will be made into a made-for-TV movie and suburbanites will cry over my suffering.

If what they say about this place is true, there may be some poor soccer mom sobbing over you already. [ Specifically, the thing they say about this place being watched like reality TV. She never saw the appeal. ]
