[Holy shit, the hallucination just finger gunned him. What did he inhale/snort/shoot?]

If I can fucking remember what I did with it, sure. I'll pass it around.

[He glances at the bird, almost wanting to comment-]

    The fuck is that thing?

[-and doing so because that's what he does.]

[Boy did you ever ask the right question, potty-mouth-man. Or the wrong question. Rizzo gives him a "just a moment" gesture and launches into this spiel as the creature accompanies him by BNEEPing in the background. Sorry, Dante, you just met the David Attenborough of goblins.]

It appears to be a type of grouse. The feet are anisodactyl, so we can rule out most kinds of songbirds, our friend here lives on the ground. The wings are fully formed, so they can definitely fly if they have to but they prefer to hide from predators if they can. The beak is heavier, but long, which would indicate they're omnivores, their diet being berries, seeds, small insects—basically whatever they can find—note the overbite and slight hook to the beak.

Plumage will tell you this one is male—I observed a few pairs, the female has a brown-black coloration and a shorter crest, typical of most species, and very useful for the aforementioned hiding technique. The lack of damage to the feathers tells me he's a young male, possibly from this year's roost, not sure.

I figure when in danger, the males distract a predator by flying off in the hopes that whatever wants to eat them will follow, but that's just a workin' theory.

[A beat, and he looks up at Dante.]

    I'm callin' him Honker. [NERP-BNAAARP.]

[Yup. That's a tangent he's launching into. And Dante's eyes are definitely glazing over, the longer it stretches on. What the hell has he done? Why did he ask? Why the fuck did he ask the green goblin that his high formed in his mind what kind of bird he was holding? And why in the hell was this guy talking like he was on a goddamn documentary?

Dante manages to snap to when Rizzo stares up at him and mentions something about a honker.]

...don't know if I'd call that thing Honker because that doesn't sound like a honk. That sounds like something is lodged up its asshole and is trying to crawl out through its throat.
