At this point? Most people are still freaking out about outer space, but you're taking it really well.

[Ghost... space ship... Stefan's face loses all its color.]

Ah, no, it's more augment-related. [He reaches for the base of his neck, just to feel that metal.] Every passenger's got one, but sometimes, they act up and you lose your memories or you turn into the opposite gender or - I don't know, become a little kid.

Ahhh, of course. I suppose the shock's worn off- although I'm sure there's still something out there to surprise me. I'm not that travelled in space.

[oh, whoops. He grimaces at that- hopefully that won't lead to anything bad in the future.]

Ah… those things. [He copies the movement, expression dropping. It's not a pleasant feeling, but- well, it's not as though there's anything to do about it.] There's no pattern to it? That sounds as though it'd be disorientating… Has anything like that happened to you?

Only the memory loss. "Glitches" don't last more than a couple of weeks, and they fix themselves, so it's not exactly the end of the world.

[He sighs a little at the memory; he sure would've liked to have known he'd slip back into his past self.]

They're not common, either, so don't worry - it's only happened to me once.

Well, that's good to hear. [he makes a face] Then again, I suppose it wouldn't be very interesting if those went on for too long.

[he nods, cocking his head to one side.]

Once sounds like plenty in any case, if you ask me.

Well, yeah. I would've preferred none, or maybe even if the ships acting up... but what did you mean by, you weren't very well-travelled?

[He's curious. Again, most people aren't familiar with outer space, let alone the weird that is the Fleet.]

Can I ask what your last place was like?

Ah, well- we just had the one space station we were on. Some of the others visited the other planets nearby, but- [he rubs the back of his head.] Well, I didn't.

Oh- of course. [he hums, thinking.] Well- it was out in space, but we didn't know that, to begin with. It was set up like a town- town hall, hospital, shops, gardens, all of that. We were brought on as part of an experiment to see if bringing back the dead was possible. So- things happened there like statues coming to life, or puzzles being on every doorway or window.

Um, what?

[Stefan couldn't have heard that right. As weird and crazy as Atroma was, they couldn't be capable of nonsense like bringing the dead back to life, could they...?]

What do you mean, an "experiment" to bring back the dead? Did you sign any NDAs, or get any lawyers involved, or was it just like - you woke up there?

[he shrugs, palms up]

We just woke up there- no discussions with anyone, nothing. Just a memory of a man with a black hat.

[who definitely did not ask before taking that photograph, rude.]

That's even creepier than when we woke up here. [Stefan lets out a low, slow breath.] Sorry, I didn't mean to pry.

It's just - do you know what your space station was called?

I always thought, well, at least it wasn't just one or two of us. Having others there… it really helped. [There's a soft smile for a moment, and then drops it with a shrug.] No need to worry about it. I'd think it's only natural to wonder about other places.

I think it was named after the project- or the project was named after it, one of the two. It was the Luministi Project- did you hear of it?

[maybe they're closer than he first thought.]

[He shakes his head, looking almost apologetic.] Sorry. Doesn't ring a bell.

I've heard of similar places, though. They weren't spaceships: they were castles, or other dimensions, or even whole towns that pulled in people from their homes.

You're in good company here. I think half the population's got a similar story.

How annoying. Suppose the Fleet must have not gone that way, then. [if they were in range- well, more importantly, if his CAT was working, maybe he could get in touch.

He- frowns a bit at that, actually. He'd hoped that wasn't the case, but…]

It's a bit depressing that there's more than a few of these places. So… castles, huh? Is that your story? [he tilts his head, curious- he suspects not, but who knows?]

They might've? But it would've also been before my time.

[Note to future self: ask around, even if he suspects that Hawk'll beat him to the punch.]

Thankfully, no. I was pulled straight from home. [Or so he thinks. #reincarnationproblems] My friends were the ones dealing with weird castles and alternate dimensions.

[he nods, humming thoughtfully.]

I'll have to ask around, then. But at least it's not a name anyone's likely to forget. How long has the Fleet been travelling, then?

Well- I don't know whether to be glad about that, or sorry that you had to be brought at all. [he offers a quick smile.] I think at least some condolences should be in order. How did you find it when you first arrived?

About two years now. I've been around for... sixteen months?

[He shrugs.]

It was kinda weird, I'm not gonna lie, but compared to the stories I've heard? It could've been a lot worse.

[he whistles lowly] That's a good while. Actually- who's been around since then? I'm assuming there are still people who arrived then here now.

Stories of here, or the other places?

[stefanged]

A good number of people. You'll wanna find Allen Walker, and maybe Shirley? They were here when everything first went down.

Oh, the other places. Here's nowhere near as bad.

Well, that's a weight off my mind. And probably theirs, I assume. Hopefully there's nothing too strange hiding out in the wreckage here.

[because there's probably something- wouldn't be too interesting otherwise, right?]

No problem, and uh - as far as the wreckage goes? I haven't seen anything weirder than the pumpkins.

[He lets out a small sigh.]

Considering the distress signal, I was expecting a lot worse.

Ordinary pumpkins?

[there are ducks that throw pumpkin bombs and a God-Beast with a pumpkin head; it's not such an unreasonable question.]

Wait- there was a distress signal? About what?

Yes?

[You JRPGs and your monster pumpkins.... Stefan doesn't want to know the story. It feels beyond his comprehension.]

Right when we arrived, yeah. We think something's trapped here, but we're not sure what.

That's good to hear. There's- well, there's a few types back home.

So no one's found it yet?

I'll take your word for it, and uh - not yet. We're gonna venture out pretty soon, and we could always use more company.
