[ Hell, he's still willing to wade through it and see what the forest offers. Who knows what's in there. At the same time, who knows what's in there.. Things like that have never really stopped any of them from pushing forward, though. Don't know what's out there until you start exploring. ]

I'm sure they probably forgot the pizza. They had to remember all the other stuff, first. [ He's quiet for a few moments before he sighs in defeat. ]

    Chicken alfredo...

[Speaking of stopping - Maggie stops near one of the less seedy looking stalls, holding up a beat up shirt. It looked about his size? When did they ever have clothes that didn't come from being looted or stolen from abandoned houses or stores? She couldn't remember the last time that happened.]

Hmm. Your daddy must have his hands full. You keep growin' like that.

[She grins, setting it aside along with their game - for now.]

No wonder you eat so much. Hollow legs.

[Maggie looks about again, sighing almost wistfully. She couldn't believe that they were doing something so normal as looking at food or clothes or just walking around without having to completely look over their shoulders.]

I'm sure it ain't so bad though. The food might grow on me.

[ It feels weird being able to do mundane shit like browse an outdoor market. Carl remembers his mom and grandma loved dragging him yard saleing during the summers when he was a kid. This feels pretty close to that. He's going to chase the feeling a little while... Who knows when they'll be sent back; or what's going to happen to them?

He shrugs, offering a smile. Sure, he'd had a growth spurt at some point, but now his clothes aren't too big for him at least. ]

Doesn't seem to have too much of a problem with it. There were enough hand me downs in the prison.

[ Being in the fleet is weird, and Carl can't quite figure out what to do with himself. Back home, everybody had a job and if you didn't do your job, it could be bad. Here, though? People didn't seem too fussed about it one way or the other. He doesn't know if he could actually act like a kid. ]

    True.

[She was fine with him not wanting to be coddled, fine if he thought this all was weird. In a way it really was. Their lives had been turned upside down over and over again, to the point where they hadn't found anywhere to set roots for a long time. Even now she was wary of even thinking of such a thing. Still, she wanted to live with Glenn. That meant putting some roots down somewhere.]

Well if you see anythin' you like I'll take care of it for you. Doesn't have to be clothes neither.

[She might not be his mother but she loved him like her own in Lori's place. That meant spoiling him now and again.]

    I'm okay.

[ Really, he's fine with what he's got. Maggie's here, and he doesn't know quite yet if he should trust what's here. What with the scavengers of dubious morals and all.. Not that they're any better anymore. ]

If you say so. If you change your mind just say the word.

[She throws her arm around his shoulders more comfortably, bringing him in close. This was actually nice. Being able to just walk around like this and be out in the open without fear for a moment.]

You know before you know it we might go back. We may not stay here that long. It's probably just some weird - whatever it is.

    [She gestures wordlessly.]

Or we'll find Glenn and the others.

[At least she hopes that's what he's worried about. Sometimes it's hard to tell when Carl closes off on instinct at times. He was a teenager, after all and the things they had seen would make anyone shut down if they were suddenly whisked away to a new place.]

    I'm sure, Maggie.

[ She shouldn't have to spend her money on him, here of all places. He knows she said she would, but he'd feel guilty about it. He's not her responsibility. They might all be family, but he can pull his own weight.

Carl leans against her side once her arm's over his shoulders. It's nice. Comfortable. They can pretend for a little while that shit isn't so screwed up. ]

Yeah...probably. Nothing stays anymore. [ He nods, craning his neck to look at Maggie. ]

We'll find them. Or they'll find us.
