We all lived through the destruction of our world, and through significant events thereafter. We.. weren't safe for a long time though. By the time it was all over, there were maybe five of us left.

[True... of those five two of them died before and remember it, and all of them died more than a few times in different timelines that they don't actually recall. And there's another two or three trolls that Kanaya's not even sure about the fate of. But hey, things are confusing enough in this conversation without getting into all of that just yet.]

The structures do look fascinating -- I wonder what they're for. I bet there are all kinds of different types built for specialized purposes.

[Keith narrowed his eyes, walking in slowly when he noticed the candlestick bouncing up and down.]

[And it has a face? Keith has seen a lot of weird stuff recently, but this really kind of took the cake.]

[Keith glanced at the numbers for a second, and then looked up at Shiro with an 'are you sure?' kind of look. Keith liked a good adrenaline challenge as much as Shiro did.]

Well, I've been up to here already. [He pointed to a spot on the screen that wasn't far off from Shiro's highest point.] Guess we'll just have to go higher.

[He entered in a number that was pretty impressive, but not stupid. This was a new thing, after all. He was impulsive, not an idiot.]

[He's nozy. Going by the colour, it doesn't look like something you'd give to Zaveid, and that's the only person in the fleet that he thinks Eizen is that close to. It hasn't been that long.

...Not that they appear to have that kind of relationship, but considering what happened with him and Dezel, who even knows.]

[Keith paused, also in the shuttle bay. These were somewhat familiar to him in that they resembled some of the craft he had been trained on back home at the Garrison, but, beyond that? They were pretty advanced and new. Not that the augment thing didn't help him get past that, he was still curious what exactly it was he was going to be working with.

He spotted the other person in there with him, and noticed her staring awkwardly. Maybe even nervously? He had noticed quite a few different levels of technological familiarity among the people here, so maybe she just wasn't used to them.]

[He offered her a long stare. A deep meaningful one where his gaze was unwavering. His amber eyes showed years of pain and suffering.]

Yes. They deserve it. My name isn't Izunia either. It's Ardyn Lucis Caelum.

[He swallowed hard. The words coming out harder than he had expected.]

[Now, he wasn't expecting that voice at all. Turning from the large window to the stars, Ardyn gazed upon the form of his Highness.]

Your royal Highness. What a pleasure.

[Ardyn removed his fedora and bowed. Was he mocking the boy? Perhaps. He never got his battle after all. Back home, he was still sitting on the throne of Insomnia, waiting. Always waiting. He had waited his entire life for that moment. Yet, it seemed Noctis was from before his time. The boy was younger than the version Ardyn was about to go up against.]

[ Probably not the best idea, he's going to start a collection of random objects and artifacts from the planets they visit, a pirate's treasure trove piled up in the room he doesn't use.

He's turning over the spear when Sorey returns, inspecting the shaft, the blade, the gears of his mind churning with one possibility after another of what it could have been used for. Eizen's eyes widen briefly glancing over the crusted piece of metal, it's definitely in worse shape than the spear. ]

The salt water has gotten to it, has been eating away at the metal. Who knows how long it was sitting under the boulder. [ Invaders maybe? Or maybe a crashed ship? ] Where did you find these?

[ He doesn't think to hide it, answering candidly as though it should be obvious. Zaveid never once entered his mind. Perhaps because he has never been much of a gift giving outside of Edna, always going out of his way to spoil her, sending her gifts and letters whenever he is able.

Zaveid never really needed gifts like that from him, better to get him a bottle of something strong they could share up high where the wind was cool. ]

[ The look Eizen gives her is almost fond, the corners of his mouth curved up into something almost resembling a smile. And to think there was a point in time Velvet would have just flat out ignored such a request. ]

I appreciate it. [ He huffs a laugh. ] It might have been awkward to explain to his friends why a member of my crew ate him with her left hand.

[ He's still the First Mate after all, even after his crew stopped being able to see him, and she's still apart of the most feared pirate crew in the world. They all are as far as he is concerned. ]

[ She stares right back, not at all amused. Except she IS a little taken back for a second when he blurts out that last bit, and it shows on her face. ]

...Ardyn Lucis Caelum. [ It's almost like she's trying it out for herself, because it just... doesn't sound right. How could someone so evil be part of such a pure bloodline? ]

Why have I never heard of you before, then? My duties required for me to study up on the Caelum bloodline when I was a child, and your name was never mentioned. How do I know you are not lying?
