Clark really wasn't sure how the fist were floating above the water, or why they were in different colors. It was a reminder that yes, he wasn't on Earth any longer. But still - fish were supposed to be in water to breathe, right? So how were they doing that?!
This is why people may stumble (or trip) over him as he crouches down to stare at one particular blue and red fish over the top of his glasses while trying to figure out a) how they do that and b) does Superman need a pet fish that matches his costume.
On Ship Having lived on Earth his whole life, Clark has always dreamed of flying in space. Maybe it was a memory of watching the stars whiz by his baby spacepod as he traveled from Krypton to Earth. But there was a longing there, and even now as he was in the ship, part of him just wanted to be out there flying instead of stuck inside looking through a window.
He pressed his hand to the glass a moment, then pushed away, lost in thought as he went to explore his new home.
