Clark really wasn't sure how the fist were floating above the water, or why they were in different colors. It was a reminder that yes, he wasn't on Earth any longer. But still - fish were supposed to be in water to breathe, right? So how were they doing that?!

This is why people may stumble (or trip) over him as he crouches down to stare at one particular blue and red fish over the top of his glasses while trying to figure out a) how they do that and b) does Superman need a pet fish that matches his costume.


On Ship
Having lived on Earth his whole life, Clark has always dreamed of flying in space. Maybe it was a memory of watching the stars whiz by his baby spacepod as he traveled from Krypton to Earth. But there was a longing there, and even now as he was in the ship, part of him just wanted to be out there flying instead of stuck inside looking through a window.

He pressed his hand to the glass a moment, then pushed away, lost in thought as he went to explore his new home.

[ After spending quite a bit of time in the Fleet, the fish weren't anything too notable for Kara. She was in the market to kill some time, maybe find some snacks and a gift or two, and just take in the local color. She didn't notice the crouching guy for a moment, but something in the back of her mind told her to take a second glance, and that's when it hits her. Still a few feet away, she whirls around and then freezes in place. ]

Oh, Rao! Clark? Clark is that you?!

Yeah...

[he tears his eyes away from the staring contest he and the fish have got going, and then they widen.]

Kara?!

Have you been here long? Oh my god, this is great! I mean, not so great that we're both here but I'm so happy to see you!

Just a few days ago. Long enough to realize we're not in Kansas anymore.

I'm happy to see you too. How long have you been here? It feels like it's been forever since we hung out so this may explain why.

I've been here for... gosh, over a year? Which, I hope it didn't seem like that long on your end. There's a weird pocket dimension aspect to this whole thing. Think Phantom Zone but we're all awake.

Well, it hasn't been a year. We've definitely texted in the last year. Last time I saw you was that whole problem with the kryptonium and your sister's boss.

That's what I remember, too, which is a good start.

[ she thinks about correcting him to say that J'onn is her boss, too, and a friend, but she doesn't want to rehash the whole thing, particularly when she's not comfortable defending J'onn's position either ]

We really need to hang out more.

I think that has become very obvious. If we're stuck in this game show for now, we should make the best of it and get that time.

Yeah, but that's how you learn, cuz. But I do have faith in you. You can accomplish anything you put your mind to. You do it all the time.

[Kitty is doing a round on the ship. Probably not a wholly necessary thing, but hse likes to make sure everything is still in operating parameters and not on fire or anything she should possibly know about. Then she notices someone new on board—either a visitor or a new crewmate. She tilts her head curiously.] Feeling insignificant?

(OOC: I play Mon-El too, but in hopes that you join us I didn't want to do anything we might duplicate in game.)

Wishing I can be out there, actually. I miss flying. [he offers her a smile] Probably would cause people to panic though.

Here? Doubt it. [She takes a couple of steps toward him but also, upward onto the air. It's not flying, but it's something.] Although the vacuum of space thing would probably give them pause.

Well, I do teach dance lessons at the Iskaulit. If you're good and break no toes I could be persuaded to employ stickers.

That's better because if you were a good dancer you wouldn't need lessons. And if you're really bad and improve at all, it'll make me seem better.
