June Plot / Calibrations Wrap-Up!
After a long, intense month, the Calibrations event is now officially ending. Thank you to everyone for making this event such a wonderful experience! We simply can’t get over how creative all of you are, and your enthusiasm has just been downright contagious! You really are the best Drift Fleet Cycle a Mysterious Corporation In Space could ask for, you know that~?
Buuuut seriously, you are also the best players a mod team could ask for. Here’s to you, Flooters. ♥ You’re all wonderful. We hope you all had as much fun as we did.
We have a few things to go over, so please check out all of the details in this post to make sure you catch everything before we move forward!
The event is ending, though both mods will continue to tag back as your new hosts, Chase and Carmen, as needed - so long as they don’t cut off the video feed at some point~ If there are any questions you need answered, or any matters that need tidying up, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! We’ll do what we can, always. As for the Calibration threads, everyone is welcome to continue tagging, and digging into other matters above the Marsiva in mingle threads and the like for as long as desired. Still, it may be a good idea to get in contact with people you're in Calibration threads with if you want to wrap things up, or find out how certain things go.
And so! Now that passengers have experienced Way More Than Enough during this event, and are coming away with a lot of crazy information from so very many different sources, they are being returned to their ships as if nothing had ever happened. …. Sort of.
For the first time since all of this craziness began, all passengers will wake up in their own beds, on their own assigned ships, in the middle of the night (12:01am to be exact). They'll find that their surroundings are completely back to normal. All of their valuables, pets, plants, collections, etc. will be exactly where they left them, no harm done. The Iskaulit and all of its facilities will also be intact, undamaged, and untouched.
New characters (all who apped during this event and therefore were not shuffled onto a ship prior to the start) will have been shuffled onto their ships at the same time, so they will also wake up in their brand new quarters on their assigned ship at the same time. But what would a shuffle be without confetti and pudding, you ask?! Don’t worry - the second the new crewmember steps out of their room and into the hallway, that all-too-familiar (to the rest of the fleet) shower of confetti will pour right over them, and there will be a cup ofinfamous delicious pudding sitting by their door. Hooray!
Along the lines of housekeeping:
And, one final thing… Last time, Diamond and Beau so very kindly provided some items (by way of apology? Who knows?) for everyone after this event. Well, this year, there are a few items given to everyone as well! In their room, each character will find a gift basket - a neatly wrapped, elegantly bowed bundle of goodies that includes the following:
Wow, sure seems like they’re trying to outdo the previous gift baskets, doesn’t it...? There is no special note this time - only a small white card… On one side, a crimson red lipstick print and a fancily-scrawled “Carmen” in black ink; on the other side, a sketch of an Ace of Spades playing card and “Chase” written in dark blue ink and hasty-looking script.
------------
The Drift Fleet is now officially drifting! We want to give ample time for people to continue to backtag without feeling like they need to focus on the next new shiny, so the fleet will stay in drift from today, July 9th, until July 21st. During this drift period, the Fleet will continue on its course as if it never got held up in the first place! Convenient! Feel free to refamiliarize yourself with the ships, the Iskaulit, meet your new crewmates, or find some way to cope with the fallout of what the heck all of you just went through. As always, there are your standard waystations now and then that are perfectly explorable, should you need to get out and stretch your legs for a bit.
Do try to have fun, yes? And, of course -- welcome home, dear Drift Fleet.

Along the lines of housekeeping:
- Upgrades to ships will be live, now that the ships are back in flight and everyone is back on them. This post will go up shortly.
- As of the Huge McLarge Shuffle Of Doom, which ICly occurred as stated above, all new crew members, drops, transfers, and rank changes are now live. Characters are of course free to notice all of these have happened upon waking up in their rooms. The post for this will also go up shortly.
- Some hard candies - either butterscotch, caramel, or fruity-flavored!
- A small container of delicious dark chocolate fudge - seems homemade!
- One food or food-related item from home! - As long as it fits into a medium-sized basket alongside all the other stuff listed here, you may have it. This can be a fresh food, a pre-packaged food, a box of tea bags or coffee grounds, a spice/herb/seasoning from home, some sort of fruit or vegetable, your character’s favorite candy… If you’re not sure, feel free to ask, but for the most part, go for it!
- A pair of sunglasses - pick a color!
- For those of legal drinking age: a bottle of champagne! The brand isn’t recognizable by any means, but it looks fancy, so that clearly means it’s fancy, right? (Luckily, it tastes decent, certainly not top shelf, but meh, good enough.)
- For those not of legal drinking age: a bottle of sparkling apple cider! For whenever you want to feel just as fancy as your drinking-age crewmates.
- A fancy bottle of hand soap - “Nebula Wonders” scent, whatever that means… it looks shimmery and red-purple, makes your hands feel quite nice, and smells like berries with a faint trace of mint.
- A few (up to three) barely-useful trinkets from their world - You can choose whether they are meaningful objects, or things that they've never seen before. Why did Atroma give you an "Best Dad" mug, a stuffed kangaroo, and a small plastic kazoo? We may never know…
Wow, sure seems like they’re trying to outdo the previous gift baskets, doesn’t it...? How about a "consolation" basket? An expired, flavorless batch of candies, flat (warm) cider, hand soap that smells like the kind hospitals use, and a post card that says "Wish you'd been here".

Fie will find her consolation basket in her room, with all of the bland, cheap-y, and expired items listed. Also, the sunglasses will not have lenses - they will only be frames.
The card will be replaced with a postcard with a picture of a very generic ringed planet on the front, with "Wish You Were Here" in fancy lettering. The same two signatures from Carmen and Chase will be on the back.

Though, arguably, I guess you could smack someone upside the head with a ping pong paddle? Or force them to drink terrible coffee?
