They're enormous and powerful and can basically do whatever they like. There's real freedom in that sort of strength, but also a danger I can sympathize with, being hunted just for what they are and all.

[He rolls the empty glass around in his hand a bit.]

Also they can breathe elements and fly. There is that.

There is that. [He echoes back. He gathers the ingredients he needs, some of the more noticeable bottles made of colorful glass of orange and teal, but the main attraction appears to be a rather drab looking bottle that had metalwork intricately curved around it's edges; the label read 'inferno' and little else.

But even as he begins to mix and measure out the things he needs, he glances back up pointedly.]

I-- Well.

[Had he slipped up? He'd only had one drink so it couldn't be that, however strong it had been. Maybe the bartender is just taking a stab in the dark. He could lie, but... what's the point, really?]

I'm a mage, and magic on my world is something you either have or you don't, people can't just learn it like they can other places. Because of that there's people without it who fear us and want to keep us imprisoned in the name of safety. Those of us who won't be caught have to be careful, hiding because of Maker-given abilities that should be a gift and not the curse it's made out to be.

[He taps the glass down on the bartop.]

People fear and hate what they either can't have or don't understand. I guess I just feel a sort of kinship to dragons in that way.
