It doesn't sing as much when it's been processed. [He'd asked for a piece of raw lyrium and he got it because the Warden Commander is the best.] It's the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.

[After pausing a beat, it occurs to him that he doesn't know this man. More importantly, this man doesn't know him. This would sound alarming coming from a stranger who appears human.] I understand it is toxic for most, but I am safe from its effects. [...Nope, doesn't occur to him that he should elaborate on that either.]

[ But have you looked at yourself, though?? He's not judging, but the stuff of nightmares is sharing a booth with him. Somehow the fact that the lyrium sounds beautiful is even less inspiring than it had been before. ]

Oh? How so? [ It's interesting, to at least hear Justice out. Not something Dorian is familiar with, certainly. ]

[To be fair, he looked just as bad before the lyrium ring. Not that Dorian knows that.]

I am not a mortal like you. I am a spirit.

[He says it like it's the most normal thing in the world. Spirits just show up looking like dead people, wearing lyrium jewelry and sharing booths with mages in space. That's normal, right?]

Oh, well then I suppose that makes as much sense as anything.

[ Cole, never do lyrium. ]

[This one has a good head on his shoulders. He takes things in stride. Good on you, mortal.]

I confess that I am unaccustomed to mortals taking that so well.

[Is this one a mage? This one is probably a mage. Mages are usually the most comfortable with the idea of spirits if they don't immediately assume that he's a demon.]

I've seen rather my fair share of oddities recently. [ There is the briefest of pauses. ] Our current location not withstanding, of course.

[ This one is definitely a mage. It helps that Justice doesn't look like any demon he's ever seen, just a little less alive than most. ]

    Such as?

[Curiosity = piqued. This sounds like there's a story attached. Justice, being a curious spirit with a growing affection for mortals, would like to hear any story that he would have to share.]

Oh, where do I even begin? Perhaps with the ancient Darkspawn who was formerly a Magister trying to enter the Black City and restore the Imperium to its so-called "former glory".

[ Dorian pauses to take a generous swig of his ale. ]

Or perhaps with the Dalish elf who thwarted his plans to kill the Divine and ended up with a mark upon his hand with the power to seal rifts in the Fade.

    That does sound odd.

    [Justice is good at understatements.]

This ancient darkspawn--was he capable of speech and in possession of an unusual amount of power over other darkspawn, Archdemons included?

[Because Justice met one of those and if they're thinking of the same guy...]

As a matter of fact, he was. The archdemon came as a bit of a surprise.

[ Corypheus, this is why no one can have nice things.. ]

I think I have met this darkspawn. He called himself The Architect. [And the Warden Commander let him live. He knew they should have killed him. He knew it.

Something else to deal with when he goes back to Thedas.]

Rather an unreasonable fellow, isn't he? Honestly, of all the things he could do, restoring the Imperium? Quite the misstep, in my opinion.

He introduced himself as Corypheus, but I am still investigating his true name.

The Architect wished to give free will to all darkspawn. His goals seem to have shifted.

[Which is probably not the best sign. Then again, between restoring the Imperium and giving free will to darkspawn, Justice isn't sure what sounds worse.]

He's ambitious, I'll give him that. I don't believe that he will achieve his goals this time around, either.

[ Definitely not the best of signs, but not something they can't try to defeat. ]
