[ It's taken quite some time to be accustomed to the enclosed spaces, the harsh ironwork that make up the skeleton of this beast of a vessel instead of the cobbled stone walls. The constant noise that it makes as it settles and stays in motion, thankfully unlike that of the ship that crossed the Waking Sea. The only windows showing the vast sea of stars that form no familiar constellations, nor anything remotely helpful for tracking their journey. Easy enough to get lost in trying to catch up with all of the new information and technology. It's unlike anything Dorian's ever seen, but being given some of the information certainly helps.

He's spent the last few hours, or what he can assume has been the last few hours,(since it's difficult to tell the passage of time with no sun) learning the communication arrays in the flight deck. As he rounds the corner in search for coffee, he nearly runs into someone he's not seen around before. ]

Oh! Pardon me. Wasn't watching where I was going.
    veilstrike: (well it goes like)

[ As soon as she had been told that Dorian was here she had decided that she simply had to go and find him. There was a slight twist of desperation about it - waking up in the unknown, not knowing what to do or how to handle it, feeling a little bit on edge about it - that reminded her of the time travel, of waking in the Fade, of her own uncertainties. She had to find Dorian to ground herself, because if he was truly here then they would be able to help each other, keep one another safe, protect one another.

It doesn't take her as long as she thought to find him, and she stumbles forward as soon as the familiar shape of him appears in front of her. She doesn't even quite realise that he doesn't recognise her - she's too busy reaching for him, a gentle hand on his arm and an earnest expression on her face. ]

    Dorian, you're safe.

    [ Thank the Creators -

or not, as it might be. ]

[ The moment is surreal, and Dorian does nothing to stop it. He watches, almost dumbfounded at the fondness and familiarity she greets him with. Like greeting an old friend. Dorian is certain he's never met her before, but she knows his name and cares about his well-being. He blinks a few times, offering a placating smile. ]

    Quite safe, all things considered.

[ She is completely lost within her own concern, touching his arm and drinking him in, checking for wounds or bandages or anything that might merit concern. Eventually, Lavellan decides that he's not lying to her and he is perfectly alright, missing out on the rather odd look on his face before she glances up again, her expression twisting into confusion. ]

Am I no longer allowed to worry about you?

[ She tilts her head, watching him carefully. ]

We've both been kidnapped. That merits some worry, surely.

[ He schools his expression into something more neutral and waves a hand. It's much easier to play along for the moment. If the Tevinter elite know how to do one thing, it's pretending to know someone. ]

It would merit more concern were it someplace less favorable.. [ He's quiet for just a moment. ] I will admit that it's far too cold.

[ Unfortunately for Dorian, Lavellan knows that expression. That's his Winter Palace face, the casual, easy-going look of someone playing the Game, playing along, and her heart sinks. If she hadn't heard from the Hero of Ferelden before seeking him out she thinks it might have destroyed her. ]

Be honest with me. [ He'd never really lied before. ] You have no idea who I am, do you?

[ Were it anyone else, he might have done, but something about her expression takes away the instinct. His brow furrows, a frown on his lips. ]

I rather wish I did. [ If the way she greeted him was any indication, they're close. Or, as close to anyone as he can be. Much like his relationship with the Inquisitor. ]

    [ Ah, well.

Her stomach drops, but she manages a smile, or some plastered on version of one. ]

Aneth ara. Inquisitor Lavellan, at your service.

[ It's not really an expression he likes seeing, but being disappointed certainly isn't unfamiliar to him, either. Perhaps they can still make something of this at a later date.

Well, this certainly is a conundrum. He'd read the information about parallel worlds with other threads of events, but hadn't really expected to run into it so quickly. Dorian bends at the waist, giving her a bit of a bow. ]

Dorian of House Pavus. Now it doesn't feel quite so odd, though still just a bit.
    veilstrike: (and point it home)

[ The feel that comes over her is a sort of nostalgic glee, buzzing inside even as she shakes her head and stands up a little taller. She knows who he is, of course, but that doesn't do much to make the situation easier- for either of them. He is faced with a stranger that knows practically everything about him, after all, and he... He knows very little about her. ]

I was expecting it to be a little bit odd, just not quite so quickly.

[ She sighs, shaking her head. ]

I was warned that you might not recognise me. I had just... Hoped.

If we met how I believe we may have, then you don't truly believe that. Odd comes with the territory, does it not?

Ah..I do hate to disappoint. [ For whatever reason, this feels worse. ]
    veilstrike: (sing your melody)

    [personal profile] veilstrike 2017-09-24 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
No, you're right. Oddness has become so normal that normal is odd.

[ At least it makes her smile, a little, her head tilting as she watches him. ]

You could never disappoint me, Dorian. I'm always happy to see such a handsome face.
    fantachetic: (Default)

    [personal profile] fantachetic 2017-09-25 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you will certainly be hard-pressed to find a face more handsome than mine in this place.
    veilstrike: (you love him)

    [personal profile] veilstrike 2017-09-25 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[ There he is - she laughs, nodding her head. ]

I'd have to agree with you. It's definitely not going to be easy.
