[There's some muffled grumbling as Shepard tries to fix whatever it was he likely just broke, but then he's clear again and the ship's usual hum starts back up.]

Did this Salarian actually crash the ship? I think that's about the only way I could be one-upped.

Well, no. He was just really annoying.

Yeah? Was it the high-pitched voice or the tendency to talk really fast?

[He says it with affection, he actually liked his salarian, but there was no denying it could be grating once and a while.]

None of that, really. Most salarians I like just fine. It was his inability to let go of the past, even as we had to adapt to new challenges in Andromeda.

[Any nervousness over his piloting is forgotten with that one word. He really wanted to tear down to the engine room to have this conversation directly, but he had a job to do, so voice was all he was getting.]

You're from the Andromeda system?

I'm from the Milky Way, but a group of 50,000 of us or so put ourselves in cyro and flew to Andromeda, in the spirit of exploration or some thing.
