Hi guys! Saffy here with a completely unsurprising app. I've been wanting to play this guy for 2 years but I couldn't because I was already playing a similar character... lmao. This is Alphinaud Leveilleur (pronounced Alphy No) from Final Fantasy XIV, a.k.a. the MMO that failed hard and rose again. His twin sister has been here before but I'm not sure anyone remembers her; if so, your character is free to notice that they look exactly alike.

It's worth noting that as a major NPC he plays a very big part of the player character's story; this Alphinaud will be remembering the standard gold farmer male Hyur NPC as his Warrior of Light so no one feels left out. This may change, we'll see!

His canon point is the end of the first expansion, Heavensward. A lot of sadness happens in the story quests, so please let me know if you'd rather not be spoiled. Though until he makes friends I think he won't be talking about what happened much.

Lastly, his augment is Lab Support because he actually does a lot of healing later on in his canon.

I don't know the game but yay new characters! Also, it looks like he and Mon-El will be on the same ship if he Alphinaud doesn't transfer off before Mon-El wakes up for October! He'll have to welcome him then.

It's a Final Fantasy and also an MMO, so like, the story is really good but only after a certain point, and the actual mechanics are frustrating enough to make you want to quit. /THROWS ARMS UP...

This is the first time we've been on a ship together! I'm super stoked. Alphinaud will most likely stick where he is, it's not like he's used to being part of a group of crazy adventurers or anything.

Hehe, I did watch the Final Fantasy movie back in the day, but based on characters I've played with in games from earlier versions it never seemed all that applicable to anything, but I also don't really remember it at this point. I've never been much of a gamer. (Does Tetris count? Solitaire?)

Haha oh no. They're all completely unrelated to each other! The FF movie (which I unironically love) definitely carries similar themes to the games in the series, but it doesn't relate to any of them or anything. I loved the music though, I still have the OST somewhere but no CD player, alas.

Nothing wrong with not being a gamer. Gaming is a super expensive hobby and I've been blessed to enjoy it vicariously through other people. MMOs are generally designed to run on average machines, thankfully, so I was able to enjoy FFXIV's story even when I was getting fucked over by the graphic requirements. LOL

I remember finding it pretty impressive at the time! Probably more for the art and technology that went into it but I think I liked the movie itself too.
