[She scoots back up onto the counter and shrugs. She doesn't feel like being furious. Oh, it's an infuriating situation and consent and human rights and all that. But it isn't her first time through these things. It's just the first time she's going to be this intimate with someone since Winn left.]

Sex sells?

[Vash sighs and shifts his weight from leg to leg.]

Well... [He kicks at the ground.] Look-- I--

[He shakes his head. Knowing how much harder this must be for Kitty than for him. He didn't have someone who he was intimate with taken away and now was being forced to kiss someone else.

Ugh, not even kiss. Make out. Well, maybe a confession will help? Then she can at least laugh at him and maybe that will help?]

I need- well, I think I should tell you that I-- ah, well, I've never 'made out' with anyone.

Before....

...ever.

[Nope. That admittance has made this worse. So much worse. Why did he think that would help. He can feel his cheeks catching fire. Why can't he just suddenly die from embarrassment?]

[Okay, her eyes do widen at that. She definitely never considered that possibility. Not that she would have guessed him as being especially experienced, but never?

She stretches out a hand toward him. Her words come more gently now.]

Hey, come here. [Not that the mistletoe even lets them be that far apart, but closing some distance feels right.]

[The look on Vash's face is a mix of guilt; because he's sure this is the last thing Kitty wants to do. Embarrassment over what he had just admitted to. With a small mix of nervousness in the middle of the two emotions. What if he gets this wrong and they're stuck here even longer?

What if he's bad at it?

Either way, he knows their hosts well enough by now. There would be no escape until they did what was commanded. So he pushes his nerves and embarrassment away as he steps closer at Kitty's instruction.

The guilt was a little harder to get rid of.]

I'm sorry. [He can't help from muttering out as he gets closer in what was already a tight spot. If only he could switch places with Winn right now wherever he was.]

[She leans in from her perch on the counter to wrap her arms around his shoulders for a hug. It's not on the card, but that's not the point of it.] What are you sorry about, Vash?

[She definitely doesn't want him feeling guilty over this. There is one person and one person alone to blame. Well, okay, maybe more than one person, but they all fall under the heading of "the Atroma." And if she can relax the nerves too all the better.]

[He returns the hug. Wishing that is all the Atroma wanted.]

Because I know I'm not the one you'd want to- [He can't help but to wrinkle his nose and sneer.] make out with.

[This just seemed like a good way to rub salt into wounds she was trying to let heal.

Oh God. How does he start this?]

That's not your fault. And I doubt I'm the one you wanted to do this with first.

Is it not something you've ever wanted to do? [Feeling a little awkward asking. Not sure if it's something she should ask or if it's better or worse to do it under the circumstances.]

[He can't help but chuckle at the suggestion.] No, I've wanted it. At least eventually, but you've seen the life I lead back home. [Literally. Another privacy invasion he has forgiven them for.] I can't ask someone to risk their life by staying with me. Always on the run and constantly being uprooted whenever the bounty hunters eventually show up.

[Even if there was one insurance girl willing to follow him to the ends of the Earth back home.]

[She nods. She saw. She remembers.] I remember you weren't alone in those memories either.

You have more self restraint than I do. This is the longest I've been...unattached since I was fourteen. It felt more like why waste time when we probably don't have much.

I think that's not a bad way to live when it comes to love. [Seeing as it's the opposite to his theory of staying away to avoid the pain of watching someone he loves grow old and die as he continues to live 'outside of time'.] Heh, so I don't think I'd call what I do self restrain so much as foolishness.

[He looks up once more towards the mistletoe before sighing and looking back at her with a rueful smile.] Don't suppose you have a timer on you do you?

[He wanted to get this right from the start so they only have to do it once.]

Well, either way it ends today with a girl you did call really pretty. [She smiles at him.]

I don't. I'm hoping it's cumulative. Try not to worry about it. [She doesn't want that to be what his mind is on both because it's his first time and also because it will just go easier on both of them if they find a way to enjoy it.

Well, you are. [He says with a smile.]

And I'll do my best. [He's feeling a little better now. Knowing that this might not make her as upset as he first feared. Or at least, she says it won't. He'll know for sure later.

And that later won't happen until after they escaped from under the mistletoe. Vash tilts his head in to get this all over with.

It might be his first time, but underneath the pathetic, crying, and idiotic facade he usually likes to show is actually a very confident and brave man. His first kiss reflects that side of him.]

[Her eyes close as their lips meet. She responds to him gently, not wanting to push him anywhere he doesn't seem ready to go. This isn't her first kiss today, but it does feel different under the circumstances. She tries to push all the other thoughts back—the five minute clock, how Winn would react if he came back and found out, how she feels both to be at the mercy of some overlord's whims again and also simply to being kissed and told she's pretty.]

[Vash tries to think back on all the romance novels he's read over the past hundred and thirty years of his life. In them it always seemed to be the guy in the lead, but they also always seemed to know what they were doing. He wanted to get this right the first time and then airlock the plant out into space.

From what his memory can recall as it races though these new thoughts and feelings he had towards being kissed in a forced romantic way that there was at least a few normal kisses before anything more happened.

He pulls back a couple times to give one or two small kisses as he suddenly realizes he's probably over thinking this already. Giving one more long kiss before he can't help but chuckle in a mostly amused and good nature way at himself. His forehead nearly touching her own with how close he still was.] Heh, I hope I'm not too bad at this.

[Not that he overly cares if he is. Maybe him being bad at this will entertain the viewers enough that they could leave faster]

[It's hard not to overthink it a little. It's not exactly a case of getting lost in emotion which is a lot of her history and he has no history which is still messing with her mind. She definitely got the idea he was a lot older than he looks from the things she saw in his mind and for how long he'd told her Gunsmoke had been around early on. He couldn't have been a child on that ship. It honestly makes her feel worse about wondering lately how long she'd really be able to wait for Winn even though she still deeply loved him.

Still, it isn't all thinking. It's feeling and reacting and getting more comfortable kissing him little by little until he speaks. She lets out a soft laugh.] Not bad at all, Vash. I really did not expect to be kissing you when I first met you though. Despite signing up for that date.

I just thought it would be an fun way to meet interesting people and it really was. [And a way to met a lot of men too. He has a feeling he has Nami to thank for that,

Unfortunately talking isn’t making out so Vash kisses her again. His arms naturally wrapping around to hold Kitty in a gentle hug without really thinking about it.]

[The arms around her feel good—secure. She presses back into the kisses as her hand slowly slides up to tangle softly in his hair.

She pulls back again for a deeper breath a little while later.] I am glad I met you. [Maybe not as much for the date as she is for their ships merging. It was an uncomfortable process, but it's worked out well. Even if the Windrose did eat most of the Three Twins.] I like you. [A phrase she may not have issued in such a straightforward way under other circumstances. But she can be kind of caustic at times and she does want him to know. And she wants this to be a good first experience for him.]

[He smiles at the admission.] I'm glad too. You've been the best Co-Captain and friend a guy could have. [And he was glad. It was the silver lining of being brought here; all the people he got to meet.

Perhaps emboldened by the admission, getting caught up in the moment, or just wanting to be sure we went far enough for this to count as making out. Whatever the reason in the middle of one of the kisses Vash slips his tongue against Kitty's lips.]

[Her lips part easily for him as if she'd been anticipating it. If he's going to be bolder so will she as her tongue greets his and she presses her body closer, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.

And this time when she needs to break for air, she does so while kissing and nibbling her way down his neck which definitely fits her view of making out. She might be getting a little caught up in it.]

[Emotions he's so use to pushing down come rushing forward and this time he doesn't bother keeping them back. For the first time he wasn't going to regret holding back. At least for the moment he wouldn't. He may have a couple regrets later.

Vash matches her pace for pace. Clearly getting a little excited when her lips part for his tongue. His fingertips tracing their way up her back to get lost in her hair. The five minute timer quickly being banished far from his thoughts.

When she starts kissing down his neck he uses one hand to pop open the collar of his coat to give her easier access. Although the skin tight, leather body armour he wears underneath the coat can't be pushed aside so easily.]

[His excitement feeds her own and only makes her more eager for him to enjoy himself. It's an easy mission to get behind without all the added baggage she could be considering. There's time for that later.

She could strip that body armour off him with her power, sending it collapsing to the floor. It certainly wouldn't be the first time she used her power in this sort of context, but under the circumstances it doesn't feel like something she has permission to do or something either of them are ready for. Instead, she makes the best of what she can work with until her lips return to his, already parted for entry.]

[It's possibly a good move to not remove the armour as that would have quickly snapped him back to where he was and with the moment it was gone and his scars fully exposed.

Instead he's still allowing himself to get swept away. So when her mouth comes back and lips parted for him he's ready. There is not hesitation this time as his tongue enters to explore and tease its way through the inside of her mouth.

[As they kiss, her hand slides up the back of his neck as they kiss, sliding into his hair and then dragging it's way back down, raking over his coat with some pressure though between the coat and the armor and her very much not intending to hurt him the effect is blunted.

She also increases the intensity of the kiss, deepening it. Safe to say he's not the only one getting swept. She has no idea how long it's been or if they're already free.]

[The hint that they may have lost track of time comes when Vash pushes against Kitty and they're able to step back more than they were previously allowed to do.

It was nice not having to be so acutely aware of his surroundings. To just give himself fully to the moment that Vash doesn't notice the extra freedom right away himself.

Too busy rubbing his right thumb over the tip of her ear and feeling the strands of her hair between his fingers. He's not even sure when that glove came off. Except that he liked the feel of skin on skin more than having the glove on.

He gives one more hard kiss before he starts trailing the kisses down and back towards that ear. Following the curve of her jaw.]

[Why would there even be a barrier? Such a silly thing to be expecting. Clearly all that is or has ever been is this making out, right? They normally do this on the ship in the kitchen or wherever they were.

Her hands are sliding over him more freely than before and he earns himself a breathy sound of appreciation at one of those kisses to her jaw. She extends her neck for him. She has a thing for necks.]
