...nobody's actually really commiserated with her on that level before, she thinks. It's nice. It also makes her miss her crew something fierce. And by extension, wistful about the friendship she never had or can't remember, right here.]
Well. I've grown used to it. [That... sounds more callous than she meant, and she follows it up with a cheerful smile.] That is-- I'd cheer if they turned up, I think. But in the meantime, I'm not unhappy here. There are some good people on the Fleet.
[She thinks Sokka has missed Katara painfully for at least that long, but if Katara doesn't already know that down to her bones, Nami would be surprised.]
...thank you, though. I appreciate it.

[...even if it just means that they will leave, and that it will suck, it is better to care, better to live, even if it hurts.]
no subject
But now they have the painful stuff out the way, she aims for a lighter subject.]
So...friends with Sanji-kun, huh? [What a shock.] That must've been fun getting to know him.
1/2
[...oh wait, she sees where this is going.]
2/2
[Because while Katara still might not think she's a knock out by Luceti standards, Sanji was Sanji to women of a certain age, regardless.]
no subject
Good to know. I'd have to punch him otherwise. [But also wow, Katara's been stuck in these places for a while too.] How old are you now?
no subject
And, yes, Katara believes that Nami would have punched Sanji. Her smile is wry at that question.] I'm eighteen. How about you?
1/2
You know, I forget. I've gone back and forth so many times. [Which isn't really a painful thing, it's just annoying. Let's see here.]
...my best guess is 23. But I guess I kind of reset when I go home, and nobody ages here. I think I'm technically twenty forever.
no subject
[Young and beautiful forever, aw yeah. Look, she'll take the pluses where she can.]
no subject
[That had happened a few times to Nami in Luceti, but Katara hadn't known for sure this place was exactly like that...]
no subject
But... it feels kind of like I went back. If that makes sense. Like a really vivid dream, and you wake up back in your bed on the ship and you think oh.
Kind of jarring.
no subject
Katara isn't sure what she hopes for more.
Glancing back at Nami now, determined to not think about what she couldn't change, instead she continues on trying to figure things out and get to know her friend again.] What was the name of the place you were before this?
no subject
Adstringendum. [She makes a face.] Apparently a bunch of scientists made a huge mistake and accidentally sent cracks their universe. And we... everyone that was there, we kind of fell through the cracks. Had to make do with a ruin made out of bits of architecture that also fell through. And there were powerful spirits that got sucked through that pitched a fit about the whole thing, so they made it fun.
Luceti is... a closed in place, right? With wings? [Something like that. Nami's been investigating all these Other Places.]
no subject
Hmm.
But she nods at Nami's question.] It was the name of one of the enclosures in that world, yeah. There were others, but I never saw them, I just met people from them on missions or well, there was one time they came to Luceti. There was just something... broken with the planet that drew people to it, and made it so they couldn't escape. [Not even in death. But first, before more information, a question!] You've met people from Luceti before?
no subject
...well. Until the end, anyway.]
Yeah. I don't think there are any left now, but there were a couple. [Nami ur chef is from Luceti. But they haven't had that conversation.] I'm guessing they didn't know who I was, or maybe they were after my time, or... something.
[Or just didn't want to confuse things.]
