I'd settle for not having to fight much of anything. Including anything that could be defined as "dark spawn".

[ He laughs and ducks down under a branch, pausing it to lift it for his companion. ]

[Cyril really likes all of the ways that Jack seems to be considering him. It's very charming to have someone look out for him.]

Trust me. They are the worst. And fighting them is dangerous because their blood can taint you.

[Then, after a moment, in which he watches his footing and makes sure that he's not going to accidentally trip over some roots.] There is a special order that was created to fight them, called the Grey Wardens. We have a couple of them here with us in the Fleet. They can also sense the presence of the darkspawn. At least that means we'd have warning before they tried to kill us all.

Sounds like a challenge. They really that much of a problem?

[ Jack watches carefully for Cyril to cross under him, taking the opportunity to look him over. He's generally respectful, but he can't help himself but to be observant. ]

Must not be an issue for us while we're out here, then. You'd think they'd have warned us. Lucky for us then, hm?

The darkspawn are slaves to the Blight, and the Blight terrorizes all of Thedas.

It's... probably a conversation we should have when we aren't exploring in creepy midst.

[ The conclusion Cyril reached was... not a bad one, and Jack can't help to agree. ]

You've got a point. Still, makes for good mood stories, doesn't it? Kinda spooky?

[ He laughs and pauses to reach up and scrape off a bit of bark from a tree. ]

If I'm going to be in a kinda spooky place I'd much rather it be while I'm clinging to someone handsome, not while discussing the Blight.

[ There's not much for Jack's reaction above his makeshift mask except for his eyes and his eyebrows which peak at Cyril's comment. He laughs and his eyes betray a smile beneath his mask. ]

So you think I'm handsome, then? I'll have to remember that when we get back to the ship; see if you still feel the same. I think I'd owe you a drink for coming out with me anyway.

Oh, I'd happily give you more than a drink. I'd give you as much of a taste as you'd like.

[ There's a prolonged look from over Jack's mask that suggests a smile, and a laugh to match. Clearly, he's not opposed to that idea. ]

Wouldn't be adverse to that. Wish I'd known sooner instead of dragging you out here to try to impress you. Did it work, at least?

Oh, absolutely. Adventure is its own kind of aphrodisiac.

[chronosexual]

Oh, certainly. There's no doubt about that.

[ Jack takes a moment to look his companion over and nod. ]

Guess we'll have to see how you feel about it later. As much as I love a playful romp in nature... I'm not sure this is quite the place for it. What with the... going mad and everything we were warned about.

[Cyril chuckles then.]

Definitely not. Adventure first. Sex later.

Well, if you insist.

[ Jack doesn't seem terribly torn up about a particular prospect, especially if there was a chance to reconsile it later. ]

Hey, if you're up to it. I know I'm not likely to turn you down. I mean, look at you. Should tell you everything right there.

I would say the exact same to you.

So I am up for it. Very much so. I just don't want to force you to miss out on exploring this midst by dragging you back right away. There's something to be said for anticipation.
