Allura sympathizes. Not just feeling a little disconnected from the corner of the universe that she is most familiar with, but also the rush to a deadline. However she has been working off a single ship and the kindness of others for a while, now--after awakening all she had had was Voltron and the castle. It wasn't until truly establishing the coalition that more allies and resources became available. In comparison to that, this is fully stocked.

But Allura is not an engineer. She is a Paladin, a pilot, a Princess, and a novice alchemist. She's hoping that a combination of those things will provide decent results.

He likely wasn't expecting her to show up with the part he was looking for, but Allura had intercepted the crewmen who was retrieving it and decided to take up the task herself. She had been on her way down to assist, anyway.

"Yes, or I've been told that this is what you were waiting for." It's a large piece, longer than her arm span, but Allura doesn't seem to be burdened by it. She smiles lightly.

"Hello, Lotor."

"As expected, you've not only rose to the occasion, but surpassed it." A smile touches his lips as he meets her, reaching out to balance the end of the piece; not that he thinks she cant handle it herself. "Hello Princess, I hope it was not too much of a burden trying to locate this."

The piece is exactly what he needs to tie the front of the ship together, it's meager shielding barely enough to hazard the most simple of atmosphere changes, and he leans to the side to examine it for any cracks or damage; tapping it with his claws once and straightening when he finds it in perfect shape. "If we can install this by the end of the day, we may be ready by late tomorrow night."

She allows him to assist, even if she does not need the help. "Not at all. I was on my when I ran into your assistant. I hope you don't mind me stepping in." They were all there to do their part, after all, and Allura intended to put her time in.

"Do you think so?" She's pleased by this news. Not that she minds the work at all--if anything, it is an opportunity to test some of her new skills--but seeing any project completed is always a good feeling. "That's much sooner than I imagined. Where should I set this?"

"The deciding factor is if." He motions to a short table next to the shuttle, releasing his end of the piece to turn and collect his papers, eyebrows creasing as he places them in order. "As much as it pains me to say it, this is not where my expertise falls. This technology...is so different. It is unfortunate that the green and yellow paladins are not available."

Lotor stands and walks towards her, shuffling one page back in order, and offers the stack to her for review. "It's a bit humbling to see how many resources I had even when exiled and on the run. Puts things in perspective. "

Allura takes the papers without question. Plans were usually graphed on tablets and machines rather than paper, but there is a sort of antique appeal to this. Some of the overlap between their knowledge bases is very clear, while others leave much to be desired. It's best to focus on what they can do first and then tackle the larger holes.

"I understand what you mean," she says, pausing as she flips one paper over. "I had also become accustomed to having certain...things available. However, when I awoke--" Everything that she knew was gone--all but Coran, the Castle, and the Lions. But she doesn't need to say that much. "--we had to make due for quite some time before we fostered proper alliances that would allow us to make the maintenance on the Castle and Lions much easier."
