After two times in the hospital due to the mist, Lance likely should be taking better care of himself. Enjoy what the planet has to offer on the islands' surfaces proper, fly some kites with Shiro, maybe find some birds to hug. But common sense hasn't exactly been his forte as of late, especially combined with his internal issues that the mist's hallucinations have jackhammered into his head.

And so he's back, doing some (thankfully lighter) exploring, trying to seek some more answers as to the mystery of this mist and the monster that lays within it. After all, finding answers would make him useful.

He knows he isn't the only one by far doing the same thing, but he gives a little yelp of surprise when he bumps into someone who he hadn't caught in his vision.

"Oh, quiznak, sorry about that, I wasn't look...ing...."

Lance's voice trails off when he comes fully face to face with the man he's just run into. It is, quite literally, the last face he's wanted to see. He'd almost rather Zarkon than this.

"...You?!" is all he manages to get out.

"Paladin Lance. Well, there's a pleasant surprise." Lotor's eyebrow quirks upwards as he straightens, his body language relaxing at the realization. Out of all of the paladins, this one was the least trusting of him (and quite possibly the least competent of the bunch), and yet there's still a type of relief to find a familiar, non-hostile face.

    "Are you lost?"

Oh, if he knew Lotor considered him the least competent...

...no, he wouldn't be surprised. He considers himself the least competent. But maybe, honestly, it'd be worse coming from the guy he hates the most in the universe at this current point.

It kills him, but Lance knows he has to be civil for now. For Allura's sake, even if Allura isn't here right now.

"Pfff, no. This isn't my first time down here. Just getting back to it," he says as casually as he can. ...Pleasant surprise his ass, at that. Lance knows that Lotor doesn't like him either, looks down on him, maybe especially because that out of the entire team, Lance is the one who trusts him the least.

For good reason, he insists to the others.

    The best/worst pair up

"Really." By the way he says it, Lotor doubts that very much bit would be neither polite or productive to challenge him on it. Instead he just shrugs it off, glancing back out the way he came. "Well then, would you like to lead us back through the tunnels?"

Or at least, step aside to allow him through.

"Of course. Just follow me. I'll lead the way."

Feels good to do that. Internally lord this over Lotor, because hah! He knows something Lotor doesn't know. And Lance will feel great about it, childish as it is.

And so he starts walking, casual in his gait as if he knows this place like the back of his hand. He doesn't, but Lance is nothing if good at pretending. Still, after his trips here, he's somewhat familiar with it all, so it's not like he's walking blindly.
