THE SUMMER TEST DRIVE MEME
(Or Winter Test Drive for you Southern Hemisphere folks!)
Got someone you want to try out before you app? Well this is the post for it! Feel free to use anything that fits in the setting of Drift Fleet! Want to play bumper shuttles? Want to go wild in a med bay? Play around with the current plot? Have at it!
Threads from the Test-Drive may be made game "canon" but DO NOT count toward AC!
FOR NEW PLAYERS: You DO NOT NEED an invite to participate in the TEST DRIVE! If you decide to APP into the game, ONLY THEN will you need an invite from a current player!
Helpful Info for Ideas!:
Test drives are posted SEASONALLY, so the next one will be in September!

[Heck he's not even sure there are expectations. Maybe things like "don't blow up the ship" or "please don't start a crazy space war" or something, but, hopefully those were all things that nobody actually needed to be told. Hopefully.
At her second question though, he'll just stand up to point at the protected balloon floating way up there above the airship deck.]
Well, New York, but more recently, up there- makes it easier to keep an eye on things. The security gig's not quite as glamorous as the exploration one, but this way I can at least go along for the ride.

[Then again she just finished traveling across space so she could yell at someone and oust them for the villain they were so her judgments on what constitutes a proper space trip might be flawed.
She turns her gaze up to the protected balloon, noting how it's not really floating all that close.]
Did you jump down?
[From up there?!]

[He'll go ahead and squat back down to a more comfortable position to continue the conversation though, if only because he's a little more at ease talking to people at something close to eye level. Well, that, and it's no fun having to crane your neck up just to talk to someone. That he knows from experience, considering even Romelle here's got a few inches on him in the height department.]
Uh...kinda? I mean, it was more like a guided fall than a jump, way easier on the landing and I don't have to-
[He's at least conscious of the fact he's starting to give way more complicated an answer than is necessary for a simple yes-or-no question, and stops himself before he prattles on too much longer, perking up a little to shrug his shoulders for a more simplified response.]
-actually, yeah, basically!

She laughs a little faintly, her shoulders relaxing.]
I'm alright with that, honestly. I could use a little underwhelming time.
[Considering how life had gone for her over the past so many years, with first her parents and her friends and then Bandor himself being swept up in Lotor's "colony"... yeah, a dull ride through space would be lovely, thank you.
That said, she isn't very keen on backing out of things either. Into the mist she volunteered to go so that's what she's got to do in the end.]
Well then, I suppose the only thing to do is to venture out. And hope whatever has those teeth doesn't visit too soon.

Yeah, careful what you wish for on that front. Out little pit stops planetside are one thing, but the trip between 'em? That makes for a real boring couple of weeks. Or, longer, maybe. It's kinda hard to tell!
[Mostly due to equal parts being bored out of his skull and having an absolute nightmare of a time trying to adjust to keeping track of time in space.]
And don't worry too much about the big misty monster- you'll definitely know when that thing turns up. Plus, I think there's just the one! I think.
If anything's gonna attack us, it's probably pirates. And unless they're real bad at the whole mid-air robbery thing, even that'll probably be on the way back.
[Though, admittedly, once anyone flew into the denser mist, it became real difficult to know just which way was the way back. So there was always a chance of some excitable pirate crew jumping the gun and hitting a ship that hadn't even loaded up on relics or other valuables yet.]
I managed to lose this tag at some point, I am so sorry!
You aren't precisely skilled at instilling confidence in others, are you.
[Mask on, the blonde squares up her shoulders and begins to lead the charge forward. She's always been a touch brazen when the need strikes and despite her now amazing lack of confidence, she figures the quicker she goes then the quicker she can come racing back. Perhaps while screaming at the same time.]
Now then, the legend says there is a monster somewhere in these mists that likes to collect shiny trinkets.
