First, the easy one, Shiro's arm: that's perfectly acceptable! Go ahead and put it all together. Have fun!
Second, the sets of armor: Yes, you can restore communications between the suits and give them back their scanning capabilities. You can find people on the planet who will sell you any parts you'd need to make that happen (or at least point you toward them to find yourself). It will likely be an expensive endeavor, but it's definitely doable! HOWEVER... for suit-to-ships communications, we're going to give you two options.
Option 1) You will need to get the suits to connect to the Atroma network. It's doable! Though probably a pain in the butt, regardless of how much help you get from your crew and/or anyone in the system. More importantly, *** you will be opening yourself up to possible sabotage/extra consequences in future plots that affect the network in any way from here on out!! *** It might be Atroma screwing with the network on purpose, it might just be that the network goes dark, it might be something even more nefarious than both of those things. The possibility will always be there. ICly, characters wouldn't fully know about this risk, but we absolutely wanted you to be aware of it OOCly.
Option 2) You will need to rig up a completely separate communications line for the suits and ONLY your ship(s). This will be even more expensive, require a bit more upkeep and maintenance on your end, and obviously it will have more limited functionality, but you won't have to worry about future craziness.
