The fact that this building smells like cooking fish is entirely coincidental.]

[Yang is still giggling a little bit when they enter the building. She's mostly back under control now as she follows Blake to an open table and takes a seat.]

[And this is when Blake realizes the obvious problem.]

... Do you think they take lien here?

I thought we just use those "credits" or whatever we're supposed to be getting from sponsors?

I just got here. Do we have those already?

[maybe she would if she'd actually go socialize, goddamnit.]

Um, we should? I think we come in with a flat amount?

[She's checking... and now she feels awkward.]

... You'd think that would be part of the explanation we get about this place.

[Yang just shrugs her shoulders in response.]

I guess. I've just been picking it all up as I go.

I was trying to do the same thing, until someone threw a snowball at my head.

[Yang grins mischievously.]

Hey, you managed to avoid it didn't you?

I did, but apparently a Semblance is 'cheating'.

Never said you didn't cheat. I just said you managed to get out of the way.

Next time I'll cheat in a way that lets me keep figuring out what's going on.

[Yang cocks an eyebrow in response, a slight smirk on her face. She gazes around the room, surveying their surroundings.]

So you feel like talking about whatever happened at the Vityl Festival? Or this going to be one of those things that you're going to keep close to the chest?

[Yang doesn't sound upset or bitter. Rather, she's being rather genuine in her question. If Blake truly doesn't want to tell her, then she knows it's best not to pry too much further. At least, not now. Still, it had troubled Yang to see her suddenly get so serious all of a sudden.]

[There's a pause before she answers, as she has to think long and hard about this. Her first instinct is to keep it quiet- Yang doesn't deserve to worry about it, especially when Blake is seriously having to question if it was real.

On the other hand... She'd kept secrets from the team often enough. Weiss had told her- When something happens, she's supposed to go to the team. And who else in the team can she trust if not her partner?

Never mind her last 'partner' turned out to be not even close to the person she thought he was/]

... If you really want to know, I can tell you what I saw. But what I saw is all I know. I'm missing a big part of it.

Okay...

[Yang thinks about it for a moment. Sees the concern on her teammate's face, and her typical go-with-the-flow demeanor comes off momentarily. She takes a deep breath, meets Blake's gaze and speaks with a genuine sense of empathy in her voice.]

We've already been through the whole "keeping secrets" thing. But, at the same time, it is a bit unreasonable to expect each other to be 100% open about everything in our lives. So look, if it's honestly something that you feel I need to know, then I trust you to tell me. If you believe I'm better off not knowing, then I trust you there too. We're a team, but even more than that we're friends. I believe you have my best interests at heart whether you tell me or not. Okay?

[She nods. Of course, Yang would react that way. She's Yang. Honestly, that's what it takes to clear her doubts- This kind of trust wouldn't come from someone who had been lying this whole time.]

... Do you remember the silver-haired boy from Emerald's team? Mercury.

The guy who kicks a lot and gave up in that fight against Pyrrha? Yeah, I remember him.

The singles round was you against him.

You were nearly beaten by aura loss, and your Semblance activated. You completely depleted his aura, and the fight ended.

Once the fight was over, you looked like you were going to leave, then you turned around and shot him through the leg unprovoked.

[As Yang listens to what Blake tells her, she can only manage a reaction of shock and concern at first. That can't be right. She wouldn't just do that to someone. The shock and confusion quickly turn to anger, and indeed her tone gets more heated.]

I- I did what? Why?! I wouldn't do that! Why would I do that?! It doesn't make sense!

That's what I've been trying to figure out.

The closest I could think of was that he said something to provoke you. But I don't know what could have caused such an extreme reaction... And the video didn't show him saying anything.

I- I don't know. I mean, like I said, I thought the Vityl Festival wasn't for like another week? How can I know what happened if I haven't even experienced it yet?!

I think the bigger question is how you can't remember anything. There's no way you'd forget the two fights before that, much less that one...

Like I said, I can't remember something that hasn't happened yet. The Vityl Festival hadn't started when I suddenly found myself here. We had just taken down Torchwick, stopped the Grimm that were flooding into the city, and then boom! I'm in space land, reality show... place...

One obvious answer is that what I remember is just some kind of dream, but I don't think I could have possibly dreamed Team FNKI.
