Alex Danvers | Supergirl
All her training and work with the DEO should have prepared her for this, but facing the real thing...
Somehow, this isn't what she would have expected, if she'd thought it would happen at all. It hadn't ever occurred to her that at some point she might be the alien.
She takes a deep breath, a last one before she puts on her gas mask and heads out to explore.]

He hears someone else out in the forests with him, turning back to look and following the sound of steps. He raised his hand in greeting to her, smiling behind his mask. ]
Hey, you out exploring today too?
no subject
Of course, some people might also take that as a sign to stay inside where the air is filtered.
Obviously neither of the two of them had that second thought.]
It's my first chance getting to check out a moon in person. Who passes something like that up?
no subject
[ Oh, he had. But he wasn't one to let something like pollution keep him away from exploration if there was way around it. The masks worked, and you got used to the shape of it on your face soon enough. Besides, this wasn't the most dangerous thing he had ever done, not by a long shot. ]
Not anyone with sense, though I do wish he'd stopped at a prettier one. It's a bit dreary - doesn't make for a first good impression of space for people.
no subject
[Alex shrugs. Neither one is going to keep her indoors, so it doesn't really make a big difference which. She smiles a little, but it's hard to say how much that softens her expression when it's only half visible through a plastic visor.]
Space is a big place. I'll try not to let this influence my whole impression of it.

and run he does, mask and way too many purchases that he was super excited about just a second ago but are now holding him back in hand. he would care about the ridiculous show he's putting on for all spectates but honestly, that would mean he would have to care about that 24/7, or however time works on this moon. ]
Alex! [ suddenly remembering that running right at a deo agent is probably a bad idea. also, running right at a perfect stranger - possibly worse idea? depends on who that stranger would turn out being - it's schrodinger's stranger! ] Alex - wait up! [ panting, damn, he's out of shape. ]

On the other hand, maybe it should be less surprising when your sister is an alien.]
Winn? Either way, he's here now, and she does stop, and she looks at him for a few seconds before she moves toward him, taking one of his bags if he'll let her have it. It looks like he's going to start dropping them otherwise.] What are you doing here?—and what are all of these?
no subject
Probably, the same thing you are - does Kara knows you're here yet? She'll have a good freak!
[ his smile turns a little more mischievous, as he finally settles his breath ]
Actually, your timing could not have been more perfect, cuz those are sun generator parts that I'm not entirely sure how to put together. [ more like, a bunch of very basic parts he and kitty thought they could use to put one together. it's not as neat as figuring out ikea instructions with all the parts there - but if you don't have optimism in this space life, what do you have! ] I could use your help.
no subject
[At least that's a problem she can probably tackle. Being kidnapped for some kind of outer space version of Big Brother is proving to be just slightly outside of her skill set. Putting together something that mimicked the effects of a yellow sun, though?]
Is that what you were shopping for? [She gives all his parcels an inclusive look.] And yeah, I ran into Kara on the ship. You could say we both got a surprise.
no subject
[ it's a problem that's a little out of his wheel-house, but he's trying his best. it's a huge relief to see her - his chances of accidentally giving himself radiation poisoning or some sort of disease dramatically decrease with someone who has a more specific idea of what needs to be done around. ]
She must be thrilled.

<[But dwelling on that isn't going to be useful to anyone.]/small>
The Tourist? That's one of the other ships?
no subject
he nods in sympathy ]
Yeah, I've been there. Time -- doesn't really seem to move linearly here, you had no way of knowing.
[ this place is basically a physicist's paradise. ]
Yeah, it's the one we stay on. Well -- it's Kara's, I kind of took over her office, but I can vacate it for you, I have a bunk on another ship. [ he likes being close to kara, and he hasn't really bonded with anyone on the bishop, but if there's only room for one of them, it should be alex that gets her couch, it's completely clear to him. ]
no subject
Besides, I'm not going to be responsible for kicking anyone else out of their bed.
[Or couch, as the case may be.]
So just how long have you been here?
no subject
[ he's using it for a make out spot a little too much. ok, he doesn't really think kara would ever kick him out, but he just wants to make alex comfortable with taking it. ]
A month and change - it flies right by, though.
no subject
Alex shakes her head a little. She probably doesn't need to know about the making out anyway. There's enough on her plate as is.
At least she's not going to argue with it anymore than she already has.]
We can let Kara decide who's sleeping where since it's her office.
[Though that raises other questions.]
What exactly is her office for? You both have jobs here, right?
