FOR NEW PLAYERS: You DO NOT NEED an invite to participate in the TEST DRIVE! If you decide to APP into the game, ONLY THEN will you need an invite from a current player! Applications for new players open April 1st.

Thanks. Still, here's me being disgustingly emotional about someone who isn't even here. I mean, we've all been kidnapped for a space reality show, I probably have more to worry about than my loser ex.

Probably. Still, it never hurts to let it out, at least a little.

I can forgive what he did to me better than Jenny, y'know? She's never been without him, even when I was being held captive, she had him. Walk out on me? Okay. But I couldn't walk out on her.

[ Sometimes, he wonders how his mother felt. Sending her only child into space . . . to an alien planet. How Jor-El struggled with that decision. How his father felt when he stopped Clark, only concerned that Clark never had to face the world, strange and isolated, marked as an alien.

They all walked away. He glances away briefly, pushing his glasses up. ]

It's . . . always complicated. Even good reasons come with a price. I'm sure whatever you did for her . . . she was grateful.

[ Apollo tilts his head slightly, not sure what it is that Clark's feeling, but sure there's something. ]

What about... your family?

[anewhope]

Oh. I'm adopted.

[ He's not particularly miffed about it. ]

My real family had to give me up due to a . . . crisis to their homeland.

Oh. I'm sorry to hear it, but it sounds like you have good parents? Siblings?

[anewhope]

[ He smiles and his eyes crinkle ]

I did. The very best.

Wow, don't you look about a thousand times more handsome when you smile like that.

[ He huffs. ]

Since I don't have a mirror, I'll have to take your word for it.

And there it goes again. Ah, well. At least now I can say I've seen it.

[ He flickers around Clark with a soft glow of sunlight and stops back in front of him a second after he moved. ]

You sure I can't help you get that mud off?

[anewhope]

Quite sure. I'll let you know if I change my mind.

Regardless, I am going to go and clean off. I'll see you later.

[ An odd thing to say and it feels strange to say, to have something constant in his life. ]

[ Apollo lifts into the air and streaks off at speed, a golden halo lighting him up as he vanishes. ]

[anewhope]

[ Is that what he looks like when he flies off? Clark feels a brief surge of awe and . . . contentment. A world with superheroes. Perhaps that could be his world. Someday.

For now, he'll bask in the sun and slip away. ]
