Maz Kanata | Star Wars
[There aren't a lot of masks that fit her broad face, but Maz is finally able to find a custom mask maker and haggle for a piece that fits properly that won't break the bank. In fact for a bit of barter and clever wordplay she's able to come out with some extra filters to boot. Appropriately outfitted for the moon's harsh atmosphere, she goes about her business; shopping, haggling, making friends and laying down a network of information and trade that will serve their immediate stay here and hopefully remain intact for any future visits.]
Wargames On The Moon
[The wargames are just the kind of gathering to attract such morally grey people as the kind Maz has dealt with most of her extensive life. She takes the chance to mingle, network, win some bets and lose some bets (though definitely more in her favor), and get a sense of the overall political leanings and general comfort of the citizens. The ban on violence is a curious but pleasant surprise, and she's curious what further ramifications that might have.]
The Ship
[When she's not shopping, she's back on her ship; stocking it and decorating it to be an inviting haven. Shipmate and visitor alike, she wants people to feel comfortable, able to sit and chat, where she can best see them and really try and get a sense of who they are.]
OH joy another small snarky odd colored alien.
Re: OH joy another small snarky odd colored alien.
[She makes her way through the crowd to find him (which, no doesn't take her long), and when she keeps her space and observes until it's obvious this is not quite like the Vader of yore in her time. She approaches him with a sly little smile.]
Just when I think I've seen it all.

What? Did I miss something?
[What did she see???]
no subject
[She gives him a little shrug.] Whatever you missed, I'm sure it's not worth trying to find.

What is it with you old guys and being cryptic all the time?
[He can sense she's old, Yoda old... Which is pretty damn old. ]

Unless I'm mistaken, you are Darth Vader.

Lord Vader.
[He sips his latte. Usually he'd mention that he doesn't do autographs, but he doubts that's why she's here.]

What brings you down here mingling with the rest of us?
no subject
I require a latte.
[He'll give his mug a little wiggle to show how little there was sloshing around inside.]
Wargames!
Today it's the last, and though he doesn't recognize Maz in the crowd, Finn can only hope someone is betting on him as he gets ready for his third match....]

[You can bet someone is handing over a sizable bet in your name, Finn. She settles in to watch, confident that - however the match ends - he'll be learning something. It's satisfying to see him being proactive like this. If he happens to glance her way, she'll give a little wave, but is otherwise content to see how the bout plays out.]

It ends up being close enough that the crowd cheers when he wins by the skin of his teeth. Finn signals he's done and makes way for the next contestants, and after he grabs a drink he finds himself in the crowd near Maz - and he finally recognizes her.]
Hey! Were you watching that?

You know, I'd still run if I thought it would make a difference. Sometimes you gotta fight. I want to be ready for the next time it matters.
