This whole moon, this reality TV show situation, wanting to help a girl with the Lord of Murder trapped in her, or this restaurant?

[Never let it be said that Eames wouldn't have a good dose of snark along with his concern.]

[He doesn't even try to hide his amusement.] All of the above. Even the restaurant. They didn't offer us breadsticks.

It's a definite faux pas, but considering we're on an alien world, we should be more lenient.

[Eames leaned back in his chair, watching Arthur curiously.]

I would have thought you would find this exciting. Alien worlds, adventure, and plenty of opportunities for research.

[Though that might be Eames' own personal opinion.]

[He hesitates, then narrows his eyes.]

    Why are you asking?

[It's not paranoid to be concerned about why he wants to know.]

It seems like you haven't had anyone who you could trust or talk to here.

[He shrugged, palms held upwards in a dismissive gesture.]

But if you're fine with having a melt down soon, carry on.
    dontthinkaboutelephants: (well okay bye)

[His eyes drift downwards, a little bit contrite despite himself.] I do find it exciting. I just... feel a little out of control. Like I'm a pawn in someone's game. I don't know if I can actually help Syeira. I didn't even know what was going on with Mal.

It's hard to be in control when you're kidnapped and shuttled across planets.

[Eames will concede that point, before frowning at the mention of Mal. He wasn't as close to her as Cobb and Arthur were, and honestly most of the knowledge of what had gone wrong with the Fischer job he had been told by Ariadne and wheedled out of Saito. He had known Cobb was grieving, but he hadn't known to what extent either. And it had almost gotten them all killed or vegetables.

He cleared his throat, folding his hands in his lap delicately.
    ]

Yes well, even your research capabilities has flaws. It makes you human, to make mistakes.
    dontthinkaboutelephants: (sorry)

[He nods slowly to the first part. He supposes that's true. It's frustrating, and all he can really do is continue with his research.

His eyes drift upwards when he speaks again. Flaws. Mistakes. Everything he tries to avoid at all costs. Something occurs to him then, and he smooths out his sweater.
] I never apologized to any of you for my mistake on the Fischer job.

[He hesitates, because that sounds like a piss poor apology.] I am sorry.

[Taking care of Cobb had been a full-time job, and it had distracted him from his actual job.]
