Threads from the Test-Drive may be made game "canon" but DO NOT count toward AC!

Rizzo listens intently, nodding along even as his gaze is turned away. He's facing so that his left ear is more towards Belth; this is important information and the other can probably see him making mental notes about all of that. His eyes flick over at the change in Belth's voice, watching his expression. A friend? They were close, he can tell.

He nods.] I'll get in contact as soon as possible. Hope she don't mind me hanging around to help.

[As for the other, he raises an eyebrow.]

I've seen the protein cubes. Should I be impressed now, or impressed later? [ -because he certainly wasn't impressed with the cubes.]

Not really. Mostly I'm just gathering ingredients for food, and trying to find wood and crystals around here I can make a proper staff out of, not this makeshift one. There's not much out here but forest, though.

We paid for this?

[wingshield]

If he asks, I ain't lying.

[ Just so that's out there. ]

You don't need to lie, I already told him what he should know.

[ As well as, you know.. Lying like a lying liar who lies so Steve doesn't worry more than he already does. ]

[ Maybe it's more aggressive than he should be, but Sam's folded his arms and stopped, turning to face him. ]

This someone wouldn't happen to be tall and blond, would he?

[ Girl, their lives consist of fighting megalomaniacal robots now. That's not terribly specific. Sam hums quietly, then, ]

[ Use that pretty little head and figure it out, Sam. ]

Anybody tell you you're as dramatic as Steve is?

[ He shakes his head, sighing. ]

Look man. Here you're at room temperature all the time and you think whatever you do is gonna make him back off and give up on you? After what we all just went through?

[outstandingbalance]

Yes, actually.

[One of Natasha's brows kicks up as she answers, her lips taking a wry shape.]

When the audience likes what they see? Then we get paid. Not sure I'm a fan of that kind of attention.

[Or she's very sure she isn't.]

There's nothing to give up on. What happened is done, it's not going to change just because he hasn't been through it.

[ All your friends are hopeless, Sam. Especially the ninety year-olds. ]

I know he's not going to back off. He's proven that much already.

So tell me what's really going on.

[ He plants himself very firmly and raises both eyebrows. ]

Not sure I am, either.

[ He gestures for them to walk away from the corner they're standing in. The shopkeeper mutters something after them. ]

So I'm told we come from different times. What's going on for you?

Things are.. [ hm ] not great.

[ It's partially his own fault, but a disagreement with the girlfriend tends to put a strain on things. Rebuilding trust previously had hasn't really been sticking. One step forward, two steps back. ]

Not just from different times. Sometimes the times people are from change, and no one around here would know it if they didn't mention it. Makes things a little complicated.

[She sighs softly through her nose, giving him a sideways glance.]

Assuming you mean back home, the Accords would be in the current events.

[Maybe one day he'll admit to having a relationship with a human, but that is not today.]

I don't think so. She's-- elves and such only exist in her world as legends, so she will be very excited to meet you.

[Rizzo doesn't seem so bad, now that he's not yelling in Belth's face. The mention of the protein cubes makes the elf color, however.]

That is not my doing. I serve dinner at six every night, and I make breakfast on Sundays as well. There is always plenty of real food in the cupboards and the icebox if you are so inclined, and if you are absolutely starving, I have no qualms conjuring something for you. In fact, I can do it right now.

[Y-yeah, it's not like anybody else has an embarrassing past interspecies relationship that they don't want to share with strangers or anything, right??? He waves off the protest with a hand.]

I know, I know. I mean, I figured as much, I been shipbound before. I know rations when I see 'em. I believe you.

[Still, the prospect of actual food isn't lost on him. He goes back to gathering bits and pieces, ordering his thoughts as he does.]

Besides, first thing we gotta do—an' by we I mean me—is call this Willie— [Beat.] Winnie. [He whispers it to himself a couple more times, making sure he commits it to memory. He clears his throat.] —and get started on this, because we'll be down here a while. Always takes longer to put something together than it did to take apart.

[Turning around, he gives Belth a final, serious nod.] Though I suspect we may take you up on that offer later. Assuming she also needs to eat.

Haha! I guess I'm making you pretty uncomfortable huh? [ Which he says.......a then does nothing about ]

It's really something, isn't it?

[ whether it's a good something or bad something is the one thing he's not entirely sure about. ]

Any good bargains?

[Wanda's attention sharply turns to something on her left, away from Sam. Yet, there does not seem to be anything there. Least, not that Sam can see. Wanda turns back to face the direction they're heading in, shaking her head as she does so. She lets out a deep sigh. It's becoming clearer and clearer how frazzled this place makes her.]

It's like... your humming. But... it's as if the whole planet is producing it. There are these little spikes from time to time, but otherwise it's like a constant drone of... something...

[wingshield]

Still looking.

[ He puts down the knife, waves off the shopkeeper. ]

You spotted anything?

[wingshield]

[ He doesn't know where she goes, but he trusts her instincts. Sam waits for her to come back and sort her thoughts. ]

You're saying the planet's alive?

[mucked]

[ a soft hum. ] Tall, blond, and possessing a great capacity for kind gestures. But say the word, Wilson, and I'll call him off.

[ she can't be certain that anyone even enjoys to have a fuss made out of them. ]

It's more than that. It's like it is... speaking...

[She looks at Sam.]

I know it sounds crazy, but I don't know how else to describe it.
