Really? That's amazing, I loved my time on Earth. And I'm sure it has, I've seen some historical records.

[Slowly, she lets her hand hover over her stomach and her pouch.] And it's because Trill are symbiotic. My other lives, they're all here. In Dax. I'm just one host. And some races think our symbionts are just parasites. It was a big secret until a few years ago.

[Billy listens politely, taking a moment to try to wrap his head around the concept. He can't really think of an appropriate analogy that he's familiar with, but that's all right.]

We're often intimidated by what we don't understand, or what we perceive to be smarter than us. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

Oh, don't be sorry for me. It was Emony, my third host, that really had to deal with it. A Tessma tried killing her at a gymnastics competition.

[She's glad that she hasn't had that much trouble. And that incident did cause discussions to be opened to heal the rift between Trill and Tessma.]

I wonder how much time is between us. It's about... 2375 when I'm from.

[There's at least someone else who understands the severity of this issue, because the second they get dumped into the water without a single word of warning (and once Sorey realizes that he can breathe) he's swimming as fast as he can over to Eizen to make sure he's okay. Edna had been pretty hateful of water too, refusing even to walk around when it was raining and instead hiding within Sorey.]

Eizen! Are you okay? This isn't hurting you, is it?

[ oh, he knew how to get her speaking.

she looks around her, mind whirring and whirling to figure out the riddle of what was used to make this all possible. ]
From what I can tell from mere sight? This seems to be made of material that's metallic in nature. A coating on it, perhaps, to ensure it does not rust or scratch easily.

Hmmm... This sort of thing is good to keep in mind when we return. Let the others know of this sort of architect could prove to be a boon for us. [ when. not if. it feels strange to try and be deliberately optimistic. ]

[They had a lot of life to worry about if. it was always when.]

I wonder if we can get a sample!

[ With an almost defeated sigh Eizen pulls his hand from his pocket and flicks the coin, taking his gaze from the wind seraph to watch it fall heads once more. It's fine, he's fine with it. Closing his hand around the coin he stuffs it back into his pocket, head cocked slightly to the side as he turns his attention back to Zaveid.

Eizen shrugs and acts as he would any other time he found himself in Zaveid's company, as though doing anything else would chase the wind seraph away like a frighten animal. ]

I wanted to see how it worked, I didn't expect the Reaper's curse to react so strongly.

[ It's comical how many things start to break and over heat with Dezel's appearance, it'd enough to make Eizen laugh as he calmly watches it all. He huffs out a sound close to it instead, leaning out of the way of a flying piece of metal, hand absently reaching for the coin in his pocket. ]

Even if I did it wouldn't matter, the Reaper's curse does not care about right or wrong augments.

[ At least he doesn't sound bothered. ]

    Regardless, thanks for the warning.

[ Eizen might have been the same if he hadn't spent such a long time on the ocean, but his time at sea seemingly has lessened his dislike for the element. It is a pain more than anything, forcing Eizen to work harder to get places and ensure he doesn't fall too far.

He finds a stable spot to stand when Sorey swims over with that concern Eizen still finds surprising. He doesn't know what to do with it, not sure what to do with a human who cares so much about his well being. It reminds him of a young seraph he used to travel with. ]

I'm fine, the water doesn't actually hurt me. But being an earth seraph I can't swim I sink.

[ To demonstrate Eizen jumps up and instead of floating as most would he sinks right back down. Like a rock. ]

    [personal profile] monolike 2017-03-13 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhhh. [And here he'd thought there was more to it than that. Edna probably just didn't want to walk around in the rain if she didn't have to.]

That's good...still seems a little inconvenient. Maybe there's something I can go get or rent that'll help you move around more easily.

-oh! We can tie a rope to you and I could pull you! [that wouldn't be embarrassing at all for you right]
    rockily: shut up zaveid (028)

    [personal profile] rockily 2017-03-13 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
It's more than a little inconvenient. I'm a pirate, I'd be doomed if I fell overboard.

[ Thankfully he hasn't done that yet and is unlikely to do that in the future, not just because he is far from his ship. Eizen has never so unlucky as to fall overboard, nor that clumsy.

His gives Sorey a look that normally is only reserved to Zaveid when he opens his mouth and says something stupid. Is he serious? ]

    No, we're not doing that.
monolike: (that's the dumbest thing ever)

    [personal profile] monolike 2017-03-13 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh gosh, he looks just like Edna when he does that. Sorey knew he missed her but he didn't know it was this bad.]

Okay, so that idea's a dud. Do you really just plan to walk everywhere? Won't that take you ages? And what about the stores and stuff that you have to swim up to?

    [personal profile] padadin 2017-03-13 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[The compliment is received with a thank you, the comment with a nod. Shiro doesn't waste time in guiding her to his craft, glad to have some company in the cockpit. It's funny, how he's gotten used to piloting with the voices of four teenagers in his helmet. It feels weird without them.]

Then follow me. You can call me Shiro - are you part of the fleet too?

[He still isn't sure if he should be expecting human-like aliens or not.]

    [personal profile] airily 2017-03-13 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Zaveid wants to go over and look at the coin, to make sure it's all exactly as he remembers it - because it has been decades, really, since he last saw Eizen as anything other than a large, dangerous hellion. He can still remember the horror of watching him transform, having to turn and run with a whirlwind behind him because if he had stayed around he would've been devoured too. Eizen was bigger and far more threatening than Theodora had ever been and he's more than aware of it.

He's a little afraid, and he knows that it shows on his face. He's afraid to get too close, to admit that this is real and Eizen is back with him, but... He accepted Dezel's return and now they're happier for it. He should work on this, too, shouldn't he? That's what Sorey has been saying this whole damn time. ]

Maybe it really doesn't like the electronics.

We're in space and the people in charge are broadcasting everything we do to whoever decides they want to watch it. The more interesting we are the more money we get.

[ Pausing, he scratches his chin. ]

    ... That's about it.

Inquisitor Lavellan || Dragon Age: Inquisition

    [personal profile] neveragainsubmit 2017-03-13 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
    [ Shipside ]
[ It is still going to take a great deal of getting used to the cold, iron walls and the strange items throughout that keep the ship alive. The constant noise and hum are vastly different than the sounds of Skyhold or even the forests they find themselves in. Certainly nothing like living creatures.

He can be found in various parts of the ship at any given time: the kitchen attempting yet again to figure out the contraption that dispenses what passes as food. No matter what anyone says these are not vegetables, the hallways familiarizing himself with the layout, or in the bridge staring out at the vast blanket of stars. ]

    [ Planetside ]
[ As strange as it is being underwater and being able to function normally, the cities of the planet truly are something to behold. Vast buildings that seem alive and as much a part of the wildlife itself are interesting to navigate, but the locals are quite helpful. The illness that seems to plague them is troubling, so the Inquisitor can be found using what healing magic he does have in order to aid them. There's little else to do, and he has no coin to really speak of. This is merely an extension of what he's trying to do in Ferelden, though at a much smaller scale. ]

[This is not his first Inquisitor Lavellan. This isn't even his second one. Fenris does have to wonder if Thedas favours elves for their Inquisitor. He's only ever heard of one who isn't one. It's...bizarre to say the least.

Still, this is not the time to talk of such things. Not when there's a chance of the food dispenser getting broken. He needs that to eat.

[ It must me so strange to see different faces though similar titles pass through long enough to leave some sort of impression. Thedas favoring elves as Inquisitor would hold some amount of irony considering the feeling toward their people.

Knowing wisdom when he hears it, he stops and lowers his arm, turning to look at whoever has joined him. He's mildly surprised to see another elf, though it's a pleasant surprise. ]

    It starts the blighted thing.
