[He does see the resemblance, of course- he's seen the portraits of his grandfather's mother, which had hung prominently in Daeron the Good's chambers when he'd been young. But there's more life to bright Daenerys than there ever seemed to be in Naerys, and Aegon thinks that isn't just a flaw of portraiture.]

I can't remember the last time I had to introduce myself to someone. My name is Aegon, and unless there's been another Rhaella and Aerys since I last looked at the family tree, I am your great-grandfather.

[Not that that must mean much; Aegon knows he wasn't a wonderful grandfather long before-long before whatever had managed to go wrong before he arrived.

If he had been, of course, this girl would never had lived.]


Your children and your army? Those aren't often paired phrases in someone your age. [And he has a hard time imagining traditionalist Jaeherys or charming but unreliable Aerys letting a young woman lead an army.]
