Summer Test Drive! (Calibrations edition!)

THE SUMMER TEST DRIVE MEME
(Or Winter Test Drive for you Southern Hemisphere folks!)
Got someone you want to try out before you app? Well this is the post for it! Feel free to use anything that fits in the setting of Drift Fleet! Want to play bumper shuttles? Want to go wild in a med bay? Play around with the current plot? Have at it!
Threads from the Test-Drive may be made game "canon" but DO NOT count toward AC!
FOR NEW PLAYERS: You DO NOT NEED an invite to participate in the TEST DRIVE! If you decide to APP into the game, ONLY THEN will you need an invite from a current player!
SPECIAL NOTE!
Since June is a special month in which we'll be breaking from the usual plot to bring back the calibrations plot, the Test Drive prompts will come in two flavors!
OPTION A: Standard Test Drive
Go ahead and treat the test drive as you normally would, using past plots or fleet locations as your setting! Here's some helpful info for some ideas.
OPTION B: Build-a-Calibration
If you'd like, you can use the info given about the Calibrations plot to design your own calibration room for any characters you want! Got a character you want to explore their inner psyche but isn't in the game yet? Go ahead and try it out! It can be a fully fleshed out room, or simply just a small part of it you'd like to play with.
Alternatively for any characters that are in the game, you can use this as a chance to either iron out, brainstorm, or test run any components of your calibration before the actual plot starts! We don't recommend posting the entirety of your calibration in this meme (as you'll have nothing new to post come plot time), but this can be a good chance to test out any parts to make sure they work how you desire.
Test drives are posted SEASONALLY, so the next one will be in September!
A.
It took a while for her to get used to it, to step out of her bunk by choice when it was turned into one and to simply separate herself from it all. It was different now.
Although she could do without the flippers, she really could.
There's a lot to see and take in, so she attempts to enjoy as much of it as she can while she's afforded the chance to. It's a bit difficult for her to navigate in that it's disorienting to her, despite how she's typically able to figure out a map with ease and experience. She treats it a little more like an adventure and just comes and goes without a plan, eventually spotting someone she recalls as having seen around the Fleet though without a name to identify her by. Jill's quick to approach with a warm smile, however. ]
Hello. I've seen you around a bit, but I don't think we've been introduced formally. [ She holds out a hand, even if it seems a little weird here. ] I'm Jill. SS Heron's tactical support.

She's getting used to being around people again. Being part of the Lifestream was so different to actually being a person. It's a little bit funny.
Maybe Cloud would laugh.
The sudden company doesn't seem to put her off, at least, and Aerith is quick to turn her head and offer a smile, watching the hand for a moment before she realises she ought to reach out and shake it herself - so she does. ]
I'm Aerith Gainsborough. It's nice to meet you, Jill. [ Tactical support - she doesn't have a clue. ] I'm a cook.

If there is, all they have to do is point her towards it. It'll get taken care of. ]
Likewise, Aerith. [ Firm hold, quick but not too quick to return her hand to her side. Her smile sticks around, seeping into her voice when she speaks. ] That so? I dabble, but not nearly enough to be called a cook. Don't mean to sound nosy, but does it correlate to anything you did at home? A lot of people seem to have skills that are entirely foreign to them when brought here.
[ So she's doing a little investigating, too. Only as much as Aerith is comfortable with, of course. (And to Jill's knowledge, Tactical Support seems to just mean she has a title to give people and that's all. So far.) ]
no subject
It's a morbid thought, she supposes, but it's not as if she has to tell anyone. ]
Mm, no, not really. I spent most of my time looking after flowers, actually. [ But it doesn't seem like there's much room for gardeners in space, and it's not exactly something that correlates well to space ships. The other parts of her life... Also probably not enough to give her transferable skills.
If only Cid was here. He'd be so happy. ]
If I knew anything about space maybe they'd have let me keep it.
