    CLOPIN!!! (spaceship)

    [personal profile] touchallthebooks 2017-09-04 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
[Khadgar is heading to the bridge when he spots the new arrival, planning on checking communications but the look of the man catches the mages eyes. He's definitely new, someone like that would have stood out a great deal sooner and he tries to remember if he spotted confetti scattered anywhere lately.

He can't remember though, the singing planet and exploring had held his attention since this world seemed to be more in tune with arcane arts than others. Even if a lot of what he saw was bogus.

The teen smiles and raises his hand in greeting.]

    Need any help?
foolishking: (Oh right did I mention I'm a fire dancer)

    HELLOOOOO

    [personal profile] foolishking 2017-09-04 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Why Monsieur, how kind of you to offer.

[Clopin offers a big gap-toothed smile. Okay, obviously, he has no idea what's happening and he needs to accept help offered to him, but he can do it in a way that turns things to his advantage. No need to let onto his anxiety and intelligence.]

I'm but a poor fool, and I seem to be lost. Which way is Paris?

    Monsieur?

[Wait, he knows that word. It takes him a second but he remembers Lumiere calling him that at one point and smiles. So, he's from somewhere familiar at least in passing.]

I'm not sure that makes you a fool since Atroma just kidnaps us. [He does try to give him a reassuring smile.] Paris, where ever it is in relation to the fleet, is entire worlds away, I'm afraid.
foolishking: (Well why didn't they SAY so?)

    [personal profile] foolishking 2017-09-04 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Worlds, you say? [Well, this sucks. Clopin isn't going to let onto exactly how much it sucks, though. He throws out his arms, jingling all the bells on his body.] Well, Paris was getting dull anyway. Where might I meet this Atroma?

I once played a tiny gypsy child on livejournal long ago

Have you checked the windows at all?

[His question is phrased politely enough but sometimes it helps, seeing the stars and the other ships outside.]

I'm afraid we don't really get to meet any of Atroma but you'll have the chance to meet other members of the fleet that were also kidnapped. [He offers his hand to shake.]

My name is Khadgar, I'm from Azeroth.
foolishking: (Don't let me fool you I hate your guts)

OH MY GOD THAT WAS YOU I REMEMBER YOU

    [personal profile] foolishking 2017-09-04 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
[He's seen the windows, and he inexplicably knows about space even though he knows for a fact that all this new knowledge flies in the face of every single thing he's ever heard about space before. (He was born nearly a century before Galileo, give him a break.) He'd been hoping that Atroma would be on board this spaceship, but if it's not, then Clopin can just keep playing dumb until he figures this out.]

You'll have to forgive me if all this goes over my head, monsieur. I never learned much about the sky. [He takes the man's hand easily, offering a warm smile that's charmed many Parisians in his day.] Azeroth, you say? I haven't the slightest where that is.

[He's not even playing dumb on that one.]
    touchallthebooks: (laugh)

I HOPE MY RP IS FOUND TO MORE ENGAGING THESE DAYS INSTEAD OF SILLY

[Khadgar's own knowledge of space and other worlds had also been fairly limited until he'd arrived, the closest he'd come to knowing anything of value was that the orcs were from another world as well.]

That's alright. [He smiles still, friendly.] I learned a bit, it helps with magic at times and general navigation.

Azeroth is the world I was born on. You'll find all sorts here.
foolishking: (Well why didn't they SAY so?)

IT WAS BEAUTIFUL THEN AND IT'S BEAUTIFUL NOW

    [personal profile] foolishking 2017-09-04 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[His one comfort is that if Judge Frollo knew half the stuff about space Clopin knows now, then his head would probably combust.

After all this, Clopin really shouldn't be skeptical of magic. After so long of faking magic to please crowds, he can't help it. Even so, he keeps his skepticism from his face.]
    Magic, you say? What sort?
    touchallthebooks: (amused)

I'M SO GLAD TO HEAR THAT

    [personal profile] touchallthebooks 2017-09-05 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
[He still isn't quite accustomed to worlds that don't have magic in a manner similar to his own so he takes it as what kind he specializes in. And as an example, he conjures a ball of arcane energy.]

Mostly arcane, as a preference, but I can do fire and frost magic as well. [Frollo would hate Khadgar.]
    foolishking: (Wait wait come again?)

    [personal profile] foolishking 2017-09-07 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, that's definitely a trick Clopin hasn't seen before. But that doesn't mean it isn't a trick nonetheless. Honestly, it'll probably take being turned into a cat for Clopin to buy that magic is real.

But regardless, even if it's a trick, props to this guy for a really impressive trick. Clopin doesn't have to fake his surprise, though he does fake believing this man's magic.]

Monsieur, how on earth do you do that?

    [personal profile] touchallthebooks 2017-09-07 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
[Too bad Polymorph only works on the weak-minded, he could pull off sheep.]

Magic, of course. I used the mana stored inside my body to form it. [Khadgar lets the ball of energy sit in his hand awhile before letting it gradually dissolve, reabsorbing some of the mana he used to form it.]

It's common on Azeroth. Some of us are just born with the ability.
