AND THE WINNER IS.....!
It's finally here - Festival Day!! And this year's grand champion is...
THE STARSTRIKERS!!!
It was down to the wire all season between the Brightbirds and the Starstrikers, but in the end, the Starstrikers were the ultimate champions! (In other words: since the abstainees/flip-floppers outnumbered the individual teams, we rolled for a winner tournamet style, and the Starstrikers won! Thank you, RNGods?) And now, it's time to celebrate!!
The Lights! The Parades! The Energy!
There are celebrations everywhere all across the system, but the largest parade is on the Startsriker's "home": a desert moon with, naturally, a beautiful view of the starry skies at night. No matter where you turn, you're going to run into a good time!! You'll see crazy floats, decorated in monochrome and glitter shine. There's food everywhere, running the gamut all the way from from food truck cuisine, to the finest five-star cooking competition signature dishes. Any and all Starstriker players will be treated like royalty, showered with praise and roses and confetti and gifts. Starstriker fans will enjoy massive discounts, maybe even VIP access to clubs, restaurants, and other venues. It's time to get your party on!!
As for the other teams - while they certainly won't be as joyous as any diehard Starstrikers fans, all fans of all teams can still be found enjoying the festivities. Sure, you might run into the occasional sore loser, but it's hard to be a sore loser for too long when there's so much fun to be had, and so much great food to share! Right?
Prizes! Giveaways! More swag!
For today, and probably the next few days to come, nearly everything for sale is going to have some sort of Starstrikers flair. Pictures of the Spaceperson mascot can be found emblazoned on coffee cups, bags, boxes, umbrellas, hats, and more. Blacks and silvers and monochrome colors will line the clothing an fashion aisles of retail stores. Come hop on the bandwagon!
And what about a grand prize? So glad you asked! All Starstrikers players and contributors, as well as their biggest fans, will be gifted with... TONS of Starstrikers merchandise and memorabilia!! You'll receive some (strange) sports balls in black and white, a custom-made jersey in black and silver with your name and your favorite number on the back, tons of Starstrikers-branded candies, some coupons to some Starstrikers-backing restaurants in the system, and a (ridiculous-looking) party hat that's almost as tall as your arm is long!! Finally: You will receive a voucher for a free pair of atheletic shoes - that light up when you walk, run, jump, or move! The light pattern is directly related to just how much momentum you've got going, and the best part is, the lights themselves are blacklight!! How awesome is that?!
Don't worry - if you're not a Starstriker and you still want an awesome pair of shoes, you can still purchase them! They're limited edition though, so act quickly!
Coming Together for a Good Cause
Every year, representatives from all teams band together to support a chosen cause and spread awareness, with Festival Day being the day that their fundraising goes out with a huge bang. This year, that cause is... animal rights!! Groups have been working hard to raise money for shelters all across the system, volunteering to keep animals safe and find them good homes eventually. And this year, Festival Day for them means one huge event: A PET ADOPTION DRIVE!!
Pets are limited to ONE (1) per character, to keep things fair to all who wish to adopt pets. Each team has a particular system-popular pet they're working to find a home for, so if you want to adopt a friend for life, come on down and take your pick!!
The Brightbirds - Parrotlets: These small birds don't talk, but they do sing beautifully! Available in a wide variety of colors, you'll surely find one to take home with you that looks as stylish and fancy as you do~
The Green Gliders - Domestic Lizards: Roughly the size of a grown Earth iguana, these colorful, scaly companions make wonderful pets. They can even be trained to fetch! A word of warning: they're masters of camouflage... good luck finding them when they perfectly match your ships walls and floors!
The Starstrikers - Dogs: The Starstrikers have some adorable little fluffballs to find homes for! Won't you give them a hand? These dogs are known for their playful attitudes and abundance of energy, so if you adopt one, do expect a handful! But at least it won't grow beyond the size of a small/medium house dog?
The Waves - Chomper Fish: So named because of their shrimp-and-small-aquatic-life-eating nature, chomper fish are actually quite cute - and they glow a soft blue in the dark! Experienced owners will also tell you they're quite expressive, and that they actually do recognize their owner after some time - they even seem happy to see you when you approach!
End of a Season, Beginning of Another
All in all, this season was a great one for the books. Although the Drift Fleet must sadly leave in a week, the system is quite happy for their participation in all of their sports, contests, and competitions. However, with the end of this season, another one starts fresh! Promptly the next day, all of the scorecards and rankings go right back to zero, and it's time to start the madness all over again!! The competitive spirit waits for no one~!
