Character Name: Kitty Pryde
Canon: Marvel - X-Men - Age of Apocalypse (Earth-295)
Age and species: 22 (or was it 23 now? I should look that up) Though she hasn't physically aged in the fleet for the last 3 years. Also, it's all headcanon because lol comic ages. Early 20s. Just assume she looks early 20s. Mutant from Earth.
Ship and augment: Twin Roses, Captain, Engineer
Brief description: She's from the darkest timeline where everything is the worst and she died and then everyone died and some people died before her too. It's generally very bleak and she's doing much better now. She also has CRAU from MarinaNova Aslyum where she spent about 9 years in real time and a little less than 1 year in game time. She's been in the fleet just over 3 years now.
Points of interest this month: Find her doing stuff Planet Mingle, Twin Roses Mingle, or at her Inbox. OR WE CAN PLOT SOMETHING SPECIFIC if none of these prompts are doing anything for you. I try to write some vague and some more specific to give a range, but I'm pretty open to whatever. If you want to put your character with mine we can find a way to make that happen!
The usual routine: She works at Malum as a bartender. She runs Discovery One which I haven't gotten much of anyone else interested in (I also only tried once) but it's a place for learning and teaching one-off classes or short seminars or lectures, so if you're into any of that let's talk. She also has a dance studio which I haven't mentioned in a hot minute but she offers dance classes as a group or individually. Any kind of dance but ballet was her specialty. She spends a lot of time in the Iskaulit gym working out.
Looking for: I think building up and deepening friendships mostly. More people she can REALLY talk to about anything and go to for support and hang out with. But also banter relationships are always welcome. She could especially use more close female friendships. Tends to be a boys club.
Handwaved CR: I'm not great with handwave-y because I'll probably forget we handwaved it, but if the characters already have a fairly strong connection and talk semi-regularly then it's not too hard to assume they also meet up for lunch regularly or work out together sometimes or what have you, so, I guess I'm saying we can discuss it! See what sticks!

On the contrary he just felt very generous and caring and it was always easy to get along with him and enjoy his company. Maybe to a point where she never ended up going that deep with him which is a missed opportunity because I think she'd like to know him on a deeper level too. She'd like to know more about what drives him. What he worries about. What he wants. What he regrets. (Though she has gotten to see a scene of that certainly!) What he loves. (Other than Wanda though her too.) Just general sharing on a more intimate level.
But regardless he is still very much filed away as crew which means team which means family to her. And he's also tied in with some of her happiest memories in the fleet with her early days with Winn and coming to feel like the crew was family and that she belonged somewhere and had people to protect.

And she feels a deep level of connection and comfort with him that's only marred by the awkwardness and fear of leading him on or hurting hm more or doing something wrong with him. That's the last thing she wants because she cares about him and she's afraid of losing him. But she also realizes that is part of what's straining their relationship and keeping it more top level banter instead of diving into what's real and deep with them.
Not that she has any complaints with the banter. He's fun to talk to and be with. He always has been. And she appreciates his genius and enjoys occasionally getting into the science of things. He outpaces her there with much more practical experience but she likes someone who can keep up and surpass her. It makes her want to learn more and strive for better. (Mind you this is more headcanon because I can't keep up with either of them so I'd be like pasting wiki at you and that way is nonsense.)
As far as the unrequited love goes. She knows she loves him. She knows she's an absolute mess and she doesn't want to inflict that on him. And she knows with him already in love with her that's already a really unbalanced relationship. So she's afraid of even trying to think about whether or not she could be into it because she just sees it as too fraught and too likely she'd lose him if she was like, hey, let's try a date! There's still Winn in her heart. There's Vash who is moving up in importance in her life. So, she can't ponder, "could I find the guy who looks so much like Nathan sexy?" because what if the answer is yes? What does she do with that at this point? So she just shuts it all down. She doesn't let herself ponder those questions. And while he's plenty cute, she just never thought of him "that way" because he is about her age and that's not normally how she rolls and the resemblance to her murder son which is always awkward. But she also knows that once upon a time she was with him. She did feel that way. It did work. It was messy then too. She was afraid of her feelings because it was on the heels of Reid, but that's how she was with Winn at first too and look how that turned out. So maybe it would all work beautifully, but she can't help but feel he deserves a fresher start with someone more open to fully loving him. She's always going to have one Winn tied behind her back. Or something. With Reid there was more closure. He didn't want to be with her and while it never fully made sense to her and it hurt there just isn't hope of changing that now. With Winn, everything ended on a high note. If anything he just keeps climbing further up a pedestal that will be a problem if she ever actually does see him again. She also doesn't fully understand how Chekov can still be into her when it seems so clear to her that he deserves better.
He's a good person and a good friend.

I'm not gonna reply to most of that since I still have a thing to type for you, but I can say with some confidence that, if Kitty loses Pavel, it's not going to be because he went anywhere on purpose.
Also. If she told him that he deserves better, he'd have to laugh at her.
