Spring Test Drive

THE SPRING TEST DRIVE MEME
(Or Fall Test Drive for you Southern Hemisphere folks!)
Got someone you want to try out before you app? Well this is the post for it! Feel free to use anything that fits in the setting of Drift Fleet! Want to play bumper shuttles? Want to go wild in a med bay? Play around with the current plot? Have at it!
Threads from the Test-Drive may be made game "canon" but DO NOT count toward AC!
FOR NEW PLAYERS: You DO NOT NEED an invite to participate in the TEST DRIVE! If you decide to APP into the game, ONLY THEN will you need an invite from a current player!
→ The previous test drive (which may still be active!) can be found here.
Helpful Info for Ideas!:
Test drives are posted SEASONALLY, so the next one will be in June!

[Vulcan, Vulcan, now why does that sound familiar?
Shh, he hasn't met Spock yet.It doesn't help that Michael's uniform is an unfamiliar design, but after a moment his expression lightens up.]Is that a Federation planet?

Yes it is. Are you familiar with the Federation of United Planets?

There was a Starfleet doctor here once who was a very dear friend of mine, and she did share a bit about it. I understand my own timeline diverged significantly in Earth's twenty-first century, but all in all the Federation sounded like a beneficial arrangement for its member states, and I liked the ideals it presented.

Starfleet is an aspiration. I am glad to hear it can still touch the hearts of others.

May I ask what Vulcan is like? Aside from not filling up one's quarters with clutter, of course.

I imagine desert planets hold a certain stereotypical view but Vulcan is a rich planet. As much as we are married to logic and technology, we uphold our traditions very strongly. In Vulcan, hearts are one.
[ which is both detrimental but good. community can fall apart easily, but the strength of their bonds exists beyond time and space. ]

I would like that, I think. Traditions are important for preserving cultural identity, especially if you travel outside your own borders frequently. And to have a culture that focuses on logic yet recognizes the importance of emotional ties is very advanced indeed.

[Just like his fishing skills. Definitely room for improvement there. He reels in his line again, having caught a tiny minnow.]
--Hmm. I do believe this is actually smaller than the bait I used.

[ she smiles. ]
The bait rarely matches the fish.
