I mean, I'm hardly a normal mutant when it comes down to it. Though I guess it is hard to define what a normal one is. Other than, you know, not related to Magneto and also not at the same time.

( Jean thinks it's clever, for whatever measure of clever she has, but her barometer on jokes has always been a little off. The guys say she has the worst sense of humor out of all of them; jokes on them - she's the one getting to make science jokes with not-Magneto's-kid. )

I mean you aren’t wrong. My family tree is a mess of strangeness. But it works for me. And with gramps not trying to be all super villain at the moment it works for me.

( Magneto’s family tree can sometimes seem more like a shrub but in this instance, Jean is glad for the connection. )

Geez. Please tell me there is some mutant in this place that can’t claim a relationship with gramps. Kitty says in her world he had a kid with Rogue. Which is I think the one that touch people so I don’t wanna know how that worked.

Rogue is with Gambit in my world so you're safe there. I've never slept with your Grandpa, if that helps.

Yeah, I just really don't need to know what gramps gets up to. Hell, I get TMI from Billy talking about his boyfriend as it is. And he's only ever had the one person in his life. Guy's practically my brother.

And yeah, I imagine you would. X-Men always get into tangled webs. In a way, I'm happy I didn't end up at the school.

But frankly, at the only time where I would have been brought there, the connection of the family wasn't really known, so I would have only been teased for looking like them.

Yeah, kids are cruel. Even mutant kids, who you'd think be more accepting. You know, I think we might actually be worse since we've just been bullied all along and then we finally get to a place where we're not - some kids are always going to bully themselves.

Thing is, you'd think the instructors at a mutant school would crack down on that.

Right? Then again, mutant schools aren't known for safety and all that stuff. Too much else going on. I mean, they send students out on the regular to fight battles.

Yeah, they weren't supposed to or something like that. But road to hell is paved with a shit ton of good intentions, right?

You're right on that. Been to Hell before. Not a terrible place, all told. Been to worse. Illyana has really spruced it up.
