Yeah, for a little bit. You spend six hundred years in cryo you don't just pop out eating solid foods. Plus, it holds and travels well so ... you find yourself needing something that won't spoil, that's usually what you'll have.

[The staring, well. It's not common but she's aware she hasn't seen a single other Asari since she's arrived. Or Turian or Salarian or even any Angarans.]

[But for now, she stares right back at him.]
    What's wrong with your eyes?

Six hundred years? Why would you need to be asleep for that long?

[If they need to do that here he is going to leave, he swears.

He seems very concerned by that question.]

What do you mean what's wrong with my eyes?

'Cause no one's figured out how to universe-hop any quicker. At least, no one from my universe ... universes. Somehow I doubt these Atroma have it figured out either, but I don't get the impression they're too eager to show us otherwise.

[She lifts a finger to twirl by her own eyes - indicating his glasses.] They got all this fancy tech and crap they couldn't fix your eyes while they were at it? Or is it just for show?
dontfeedplants: (I've got to let it)

I guess at least there's something better about my home planet...

[No offense, but he can't imagine a life eating stuff like this and being knocked out for centuries.

But that second part surprises him.]

    Oh these?

[Points at his glasses. It takes him a moment to process that technology might be different on other planets.]

I wouldn't really call it fancy. Where I'm from, we don't actually have the technology to fix eyesight, so I just wear these so I can see. I'm pretty blind without them.

    Wow, that sucks.

So if you come from such a backwater planet, what do you think about all of this? About space? [She hops up to sit on the counter, looking at him with renewed interest.] I mean, to me; you're a member of an ancient, struggling civilization; thrust out into the unforgiving darkness, among peoples and societies you couldn't even have dreamed of.

    What's it like?

It's amazing. I couldn't imagine stuff like this ever actually existing [Well, maybe except general space travel.], much less that I'd get to experience it.

[While he does seem happy, there is a slight twinge of uncertainty. He still can't help but think that this is a punishment by Twoey.]

I just wish I didn't have to be kidnapped to be able to experience it.

[She leans back and lets out a purely aggravated sigh.]

Uuuuuugh, right? Like, way to ruin the experience. [She slumps over, elbows on knees and head cradled in her hand.] I mean I'm all for jumping ship and checking out the next galaxy over but it'd be really nice if you could jump back when you wanted, y'know?
