Threads from the Test-Drive may be made game "canon" but DO NOT count toward AC!

FOR NEW PLAYERS: You DO NOT NEED an invite to participate in the TEST DRIVE! If you decide to APP into the game, ONLY THEN will you need an invite from a current player!

Are you sure? [ Fuwari seems worried. ] You were just getting to know it....

[ Doubtful, she looks down at the rock. Then brightens. ] Ah, I think he moved!

[ That or she shifted her hold on it. But she seems sure of herself. ]

[tempredmental]

Yeah, it's fin-

[Moved? He blinked.

Oddly enough, a moving rock wouldn't really be a first for Keith, either. He looked at it closely.]

I don't see a difference.

[priforpalps]

He must have been getting comfortable. [ Fuwari uses her thumb to stroke the rock. ] There, there. You're safe here.

[ Satisfied the rock is happy, she turns more of her attention on the, you know, person here. (other person. the rock is a person too.) ] Ah, I'm Midorikaze Fuwari. I'm sorry for not introducing myself earlier.

[ It was terribly impolite of her. She has learned a lot about etiquette!

And is still not wearing shoes!! Despite being in a rocky asteroid!!! ]

[tempredmental]

Uh, right. I'm Keith.

[Yeah, he was way more informal about introductions, so ... wait ...

She wasn't wearing shoes?]

Do you have shoes?

Yes! [ Fuwari nods. ] I'm taking good care of them back on the ship!

But you're supposed to wear them. That's the point.

Don't your feet hurt?

They're used to this.

[ She's smiling, but her feet are a little bit bunged up. ]

[tempredmental]

[Keith looked a little concerned.]

Are you sure? I mean, this isn't exactly the greatest terrain for walking around without shoes.

Why aren't you wearing them?

[priforpalps]

[ Still holding her new rock friend carefully, Fuwari glances down at her bland, Fleet-issued clothes. She turns one leg back and forth to indicate them. ]

The nice people from the TV show gave us these lovely, easy-to-move-in things to wear. But if I wore the shoes here, they might get dirty....

[tempredmental]

You can clean them? Better than something happening to your foot because you stepped on a sharp rock, right?

[He was so confused. This girl was like... well, she had a point? But it still made no sense to him.]

[priforpalps]

It's all right.

[ Fuwari smiles. ]

I hear I'm thick-skinned!!

[ But then, she thinks of something, and frowns to herself, perplexed. ] ....or was that "-headed"....?

[tempredmental]

[Keith had his own opinion about that at the moment, but he managed to actually keep it to himself this time.]

You should be careful, though. And, really, why would they give you something if they didn't want you to use it?

[Different tactic?]

[priforpalps]

[ Fuwari considers this, too. ] That's difficult to say. I'm not sure someone like me could really hope to understand it. Running a television show involves a lot of thinking about a lot of very complicated things, all at once.

[ She sighs. ] It's so comfortable going barefoot, though....

[tempredmental]

Even on the rocks?

[Well... okay...]

I mean, it's really up to you, I guess. Just... most people don't find that comfortable. But, if you can handle it... [He shrugged.]

[priforpalps]

[ Fuwari just smiles. What a kind person, to be caring about her.

But she's still holding the rock, and Keith having mentioning "rocks" puts this first and foremost in her mind. She looks around. ] Have you seen whether they sell feed here? I wouldn't want to get into space and have nothing to feed him.

[tempredmental]

Oh, uh...

[She was really convinced this was a living creature, wasn't she?]

They don't eat.

[priforpalps]

They don't?

[ BIG SHOCK. ]

Maaaaaaaa!!

[tempredmental]

[What the-? Did she just-?]

What was that noise?

[priforpalps]

That's how we express surprise in the Palps.

[ Perhaps he didn't hear properly. She should bleat again, then. ] Maa, maaa!

[tempredmental]

[He stared at her for a second, and then tried really hard to be diplomatic about this. Allura would just... smile and nod. Yeah. Smile and nod.]

Oh. The Palps. Right. Is that where you're from?

[priforpalps]

[ Fuwari nods. ] The goats in Parajuku said the same thing. And there weren't any goats in PriParis except my friends who tagged along...

[ But now she's here. Making friends with this rock, and this person, instead. How amazing. ]

The puniverse is such a large place!

[tempredmental]

[He blinked. He didn't recognize any of the places she mentioned, which was fine. He was used to that, but she just said...]

Puniverse? Don't you mean universe?

[priforpalps]

Is that which one we're in right now?

[ There's the puniverse and the universe. There's air in the puniverse between the planets but not the universe. Fuwari may be a simple country girl, but she's learned that much!

Being in the universe is probably for the best, though. There are plack poles in the puniverse. ]

[tempredmental]

[Keith was just going to take a stab at this.]

Yes.

[He honestly wasn't entirely sure, but he hadn't heard anyone call it anything else.]

I see!

[ But she's been neglecting her rock friend. Fuwari looks down at it, cupping it in her hands more fully so she can pet it with both thumbs. ]
