[ Eizen shrugs. He chalks it up to being a wind malak thing, or a Zaveid thing, either way it doesn't truly bother him as much as he makes out. There are other things stirring up a storm in his mind, speaking of - ]

Seen anyone else?

[ Of their band he is certain there is none, but of the other... Well he'll test the waters as gently as he can. See how the wave fair before setting sail so to speak. ]

[She raises an eyebrow at that, shifting to cross her arms as she watches him. She can tell he's leading up to something, so she might as well wait for him to say it.]

No. should I be expecting someone?

[rockily]

[ He's that obvious, is he? Well no matter, Eizen regards her with something of a stoney expression before glancing towards the harpoon he had been holding previously. The split in the shaft has grown as they talked, snaking up the wood and slipping under the metal holding the blade, threatening to shatter. ]

There are other malak here, as from Zaveid, their from our future where they call themselves seraphim. [ There is a sharp popping noise from the harpoon. ] You might want to tread lightly around them, especially around the human boy, Sorey.

[She glances sharply at the broken harpoon then back to Eizen. She hadn't given too much consideration to the timeline, though maybe she should have. Then again, there's a lot to take in in this situation in general. She tilts her head a little, considering him.]

Yeah? And why's that?

[Not that she's refusing. She's just not always good at treading lightly.]

[ How to put it? Eizen shifts, a hand reaching up to rub the back of his head before falling down to slip into his pocket. Velvet's blunt, to put it nicely, not the sort to dance around things or treading lightly. ]

He's a good kid, the sort that somehow manages to stay innocent no matter what happens around them. [ So is he trying to say don't scare the poor boy? Or scar him? ] Kinda of like Laphicet in that way.

[She studies him for a moment and then sighs.]

All right. I won't try to eat him or terrorize him too much. Happy?

[There she goes being blunt again. Good job, Velvet. This is probably the sort of attitude he's talking about right here.

Though, really, she does respect Eizen enough to take his advice into consideration, even if she's outwardly being a shit about it.]

[ The look Eizen gives her is almost fond, the corners of his mouth curved up into something almost resembling a smile. And to think there was a point in time Velvet would have just flat out ignored such a request. ]

I appreciate it. [ He huffs a laugh. ] It might have been awkward to explain to his friends why a member of my crew ate him with her left hand.

[ He's still the First Mate after all, even after his crew stopped being able to see him, and she's still apart of the most feared pirate crew in the world. They all are as far as he is concerned. ]

[So, she's still considered part of the crew, even though she has no idea how much time has passed (though she assumes quite a bit if there are people from the future here and Eizen knows them). Her expressions softens again, just for a moment, before she shrugs a little and turns her gaze back to the broken harpoon.]

I guess I've caused you enough trouble in the past. I can give you a break for awhile.

[By making an effort not to eat his new friends. Assuming her temper holds.]

[ Eizen just grins and raises his shoulders in a shrug. ]

I'd say we're on even footing on that one, my curse has caused about the same amount of trouble.

[ It's not trouble he is worried about, he is used to trouble cropping up in the most unexpected places - he wouldn't have traveled with her as long as he did if it did bother him. More what might happen when the two meet, if they meet at all. ]

[She shakes her head once, waving her hand.]

I told you when we met, I make my own luck.

[Which is to say, it never bothered her much. She picks up the broken harpoon and studies it, though it's not really what's on her mind at the moment.]

Eizen...you said this kid and his friends are from the future. What about you?

[rockily]

[ Truthfully he hasn't seen anyone take his curse in stride like Velvet and the others, even as it made things more difficult they never seemed that bothered. They survived a lot longer than he had thought they would, they were stronger than he had original given them credit for.

He watches her take the harpoon, the wood splintered but not yet shattered, before focusing on the side of her head. The question that leaves her one that has Eizen shift... How does he even start to answer that? ]

I'm not as far ahead as they are. [ He was alive during their time, but he is certain he has turned by that point, twisted into a monster that could no longer recognize those he cared about. ] As far as we're concerned... We won, we defeated the Abbey and you got that revenge you had wanted for so long.

[ He answers vaguely, uncertain as to where exactly she was in the timeline. If she remembered the final battle and what ensued after it, the decision she made. ]

That so.

[She doesn't remember that, but she's not entirely surprised to learn it, aside from the fact that being told something about your own future is a little offputting. The last thing she remembers they were on their way. They were ready. She was confident, but she knew a sacrifice would need to be made, and she was prepared to make it. She'd accepted it. She still accepts it.]

Could being here...change that?

[It's a concern. She's not sure how this timeline business works.]
