True. It's when we're not free to roam that the mind starts stretching...

    [He leans back.]

And it's not the sort of thing I can prepare myself for, I'd guess?

[She takes a moment to think on his question before providing her answer.]

I suppose in a sense. Everyone who has been here long enough knows about the glitches, and has likely experienced a few themselves. If something happens -- someone starts behaving or talking strangely, most everyone will guess that it's a glitch. So, you may not be able to prepare yourself for them... but others may be prepared to help you.

    [He lets out a breath.]

That's helpful. And in time I'll start to recognize and be able to help too...at least I hope I will.

How often does that lead to death? I've come to understand that death isn't always permanent for the duration, as strange as that is...
    notmutantbutmiracle: (I am sorry)

[That... catches Wanda off guard. It takes her a moment to wipe the look of shock off her face. An expression of concern mixed with a bit of sorrow takes its place.]

    I... I do not know...

It- it has happened, but... [A slight wince.] But no one really wants to dwell on it when it does.

Death is death. Temporary or not, it's not a subject anyone likes to spend a lot of time thinking about.

Right, of course not. It's just an odd way to have to think about that---but I'll do all I can to avoid that.

Anyway, thanks for the advice. I'm sure I'll eventually see you on some planet or another?
    notmutantbutmiracle: (A small grin)

[A small smile returns. Wanda's glad to have moved away from the topic of death.]

You probably will. After being stuck on those ships for so long, most of us take any opportunity we can to get out and stretch our legs.

No kidding. I'm surprisingly used to the atmospheric controls already, but nothing can replace a real planetary atmosphere and open space.

    Thanks.

    Your welcome.

If you think of any other questions, I can try to answer them.

[She then adds with a more wry note.]

And be careful what buttons you go about pressing on the ships.

...I know to avoid the airlock and the gravity, but is there anything else that. Uh. Isn't precisely standard?
    notmutantbutmiracle: (A small grin)

[That sly smile stays fixed to Wanda's expression.]

    Maybe the ejector seats?

[She may or may not be messing with him here.]

In a space vehicle? Unless it's also typically used in the atmosphere...

[He consults what he can read of the instructions anyway, muttering to himself]

[Wanda snorts at Billy's reaction, a soft chuckle echoing after.]

    It was a joke.

    No ejector seats.

[Then, again, she adds with that same sly grin.]

Least none that anyone has found yet.
